Which version of the game you are running?

I have SE but last update was March 7. All this f*cking updates ruin my game each time they do it!!!

There haven't been updates this year at all. In fact, it has been months since the last update.

I think either your Steam cache or files are corrupted, if game is trying to update itself constantly.

To clear the cache:
Steam > Settings > Downloads > Clear Download Cache

Note that this process WILL require you to log in back to client with your password.

Validating files:
Steam client > Library view > Right click the game.
Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of Game Files

Note that this WILL reset your INI-files.

I do not actually believe that this would fix the problem with .dll, but there is little reason to hunt it down before fixing your game files being constantly changed by ghost updates.

We have ways to protect ourselves from legit updates. We can get to that.

Are you using DLL Plugin Loader?

Thanks both. I've validated files and it says 1 files failed to validate and will be reacquired. I've come back to playing after some time and it's obviously to do with an update somewhere and it's messed up with mods.

I disabled all my mods and the game launched

I guess I can go through enabling each mod until I get the crash but what a ball ache!!!

Well that's very odd!!! Disabled all mods and it ran so started enabling them 1 by 1, but got bored and just enabled all of them together...and it worked!!! I had a message in game saying that SkyUI wouldn't work because SKSE64 is out of date, but it actually started up!!!
