Auriel's bow overrated.
And that's not all, what you need to go through to get it is as if you're getting an all powerful, all damaging weapon in all of Tamriel and beyond.
Not!!
My Dragonbone bow of Scorching (self crafted) has 553 damage inclusive of addon apparel, jewellry, enchantments. It can kill a dragon in 2 to 3 strikes.

You have posted this thread twice....
Auriel's bow channels a faction of the power of the Sun, it's primary function is to act as a channel between Auriel's followers and Auriel. It's not supposed to be the most powerful weapon ever.

Depends on what kind of game you are doing, in your case, probably no restrictions, yeah it's poopy. But think about this, no enchanting, not creating your own weapons, it is the highest dps bow in the game. Same draw speed as Zephyr and it still has a damage enchantment on top, smith it and it will deal good damage.

No restrictions?, there are some contenders for best bow.
Dragonbone Bow: highest physical damage with good draw speed
Stalhrim Bow: Highest damage per shot potential
Hunting Bow: Highest damage per second potential

It's a very good bow, especially against undead, but you're right that it's not overpowered. For players who choose to avoid crafting skills, it's more impressive. There are several other bows[en.uesp.net] that are also quite good. Zephyr requires significantly less effort to get, and even an unenchanted dragonbone bow is difficult to beat.

However, some players find the crafting skills to make the game boring, and they prefer the challenge of using only what they find. If you crank up the difficulty level and don't use smithing or enchanting, the game is actually reasonably challenging, though it's nowhere near the difficulty of the early Elder Scrolls games.

Some people never even made it out of the tutorial dungeon in Arena or Daggerfall.

Nothing beats crafting. And btw any pre created artifacts were developed for Adept difficulty and no higher than Master difficulty in the worst case scenario. OP, you need to always keep this in your mind.

It is really handy when fighting Harkon, as it breaks the barrier surrounding the blood altar and forces him back into the battle, preventing him from healing.

Where in the 9 realms did you get this info from, the game literally isn't supposed to be played with trifecta gear. It is supposed to be played on whatever difficulty you feel comfortable with, with any gear, without a whole lot of problems.

I just dont like bows at all, way to often they go floppy or straight through targets. And about half the time they fall short with like 50% or more (floppy arrows land in front of you) so i only use crossbows nowdays as they never fail.

Most good bows comes too late in the game even if you never use any crafting the bows gimmicy mechanics are usualy not very good at all. Auriels bow have one use, and one use only and that is if you play a Vampire so you can darken the sky. And i never play as a vampire...

Yes, and why do you think that I disagree with that? I totally agree.

Except that Legendary difficulty was added to the game in 1.9 Oldrim update. So it is not the initial part of the game. And so it is obvious that game mechaincs is not designed for it specifically. Including artefact's parameters like damage and so on.

Who rated the bow? I wonder where you got the idea of a rating from in the first place.

Was it a YouTube video on the "10 Best Bows in Skyrim" and you could not resist clicking on it?

Yep, so OP wants to cry more.

So you don't like the bow OP? Then don't use it and move on.

Well honed and enchanted it is good enough :) It is definately one of the best looking bows, especially along with the ancient Falmer armor and auriels shield.

Eh, someone complaints about a bow that is not powerful because of pure numbers. The bow does more than only that.
