Will Nexus and Bethesda Mods work together
Apparently there are some mods on the Bethesda site that are exclusive to them. Is it safe to try to run them at the same time as Vortex mods. I am reluctant since I had such a hard time getting the Nexus mods working in the first place.

yup
yes as long as none of them are conflicting with each other + the right load order.

I always advise not to use the mods from the Main menu unless strictly using those mods. Not because they don't work but for one because that system has it's own ordering menu which can conflict with your mod manager and yes it can and does sometimes cause issues.

Can you use them without issue? Sure. But I wouldn't recommend it.

This is a tough call. The only way I was comfortable using both, was when I only used the game's mod manager. Mods from outside sources were manually installed and they showed up in the game's LO with a blank thumbnail.

It's been several years and the rest of the details are fuzzy but the playthrough went smoothly without issue.

Vortex does have an Extension to better manage this issue with the in-game mods. And SkyUI came out with a patch for it as related to it's mod. Still, I'd stay away.

I'm researching how to mod recently and from my understanding from this video is that Mod Organizer 2 will let you load mods separately from the game itself and also let's you know if there are any conflicts or anything. May be worth looking in to mates.:steamhappy:

That damn MO2...

I can't say enough good stuff about it. It's a ridiculously powerful tool. It can take a month of night school and tutoring to get it's functions down but it can provide many years of worry free gameplay for a responsible mod user.

My experience with using multiple mod sources predates me becoming familiar with MO2.

Like i said Vortex can handle it and always has been able to but due to the Extension you can add directly from Vortex it can now handle the combo more efficiently. I stay away from the in-game mod system. Besides, Nexus and other sites have a far broader selection of mods and they do not interfere with LOOT the way the in-game system does.

Vortex does the same thing. btw the video is from 2021 and much has changed. Matter of fact i think that youtuber has an updated video.

But I stand by what I said earlier which is:

Well I have a question ya mates. Does CC counts as mods too? Because when I looked at it the thingo in the store said I owned everything except for like one of the packs running for 1200. So I hit download all. lol Did I make a boo boo? lol:steammocking:

Ya he did. I am just watching them in order is all. I probably shoulda posted the most recent one. lol I honestly didn't think there'd be that much difference in them since the other one was shorter. To be honest though I am curious about Vortex as well too. So for me personally I was going to read up on both and see which one I wanted to test out first.:steamhappy:

The CC content takes up a few slots in the plugin limit, nothing major as 99% of it is light plugins which do not count against the plugin limit.

I think what caught my attention on MO2 was I think he mentioned something about setting up different profile sets. So loading up different mod combos was appealing to me.:steamhappy:
