I hate Mods. Have to delete them all and start game over AGAIN
Seems like every time I try to add new mods the game goes totally FUBAR. I try not to download any mod that requires add ons and that have lots of good reviews and upvotes and sure enough the damn thing makes the game go tilt. Why do you have to be a friggin Computer genius to get the dang things to wrok in the game?
Once again, I tried to add a few mods and the game will not start and I get a list of "X requires Y to run" errors. Will modders please just make plug and play mods and stop the BS of "you need X and Y and Z" when they are not listed in the mod description.
Once again looks like my game is FUBAR due to bad mods and once again I am going to have to remove them all and start a new game. Once I had to completely remove the whole game and download it so it would run right. I am getting tired of this.

if (you're using/you use) nexus then all required mods are displayed in a neat little drop down near the top of the mods page.

Why not follow a dedicated comprehensive mod guide?

for example https://www.sinitargaming.com/skyrim_se.html

Alternatively you could just download something like Nolvus where it is all done for you using a dedicated third party mod installer, with around 1500 mods (takes around 4-8 hours depending on net speed and location, as well as whether or not you have a Nexus premium account).

Any mod manager and LOOT would tell you which file is missing.
As noted above by Xeno42, requirements are indeed under the drop list in description page.

There is a reason why dependencies exists. If mod authors would get permission to just merge each other's resources in to their mods, the outcome would be a file sorting nightmare, when different versions of various utilities would get mixed all around resource priorities. Modded games would actually become completely unplayable.

Furthermore, author activity varies. Some resource requiring another gets updated, that might kill of dozens of mods from the line.

So let's just stick with how things are. If you do not want dependencies, then move to mods that use only vanilla resources. There is not a lot to mod with those though.

I recommend using Vortex as your mod manager since it will take care of your load order as well as any conflicts between mods that may need to be resolved. It's also a good a idea to only add a few at a time and test them out if possible to make sure they are working correctly. Many of them will require you to start a new game to prevent crashes so it may be best to start a play through after everything is to your liking.
*laughs in 1200+ mods*

Just have to pay attention to what you're doing. We've all been there.

Start here as this will get you back to a clean vanilla state - follow it to the letter:

Then look over this guide for some common mistakes to avoid:

Then build a small load order to get a good fell for a successfully modded game:
No Need to downgrade your game and go backwards

Modding isn't plug-n-play but with a little reading you'll get it down in no time.

Bro just learn to do it. I was a noob once and now not only can I mod any game with ease but I learnt a lot about using my PC to its full potential. Get back to modding your game!

I have just downloaded over 200 mods and installed them all at once. Ranging from simple armor mods to massive gameplay changes. I haven't experienced a crash or bug and have been playing about 10 hours in this new save.

All I did was read mod discriptions and use LOOT. Whoever made LOOT deserves the nobel prize of modding.

Write down what mods you are using, then check the prerequisites against them, make sure none of the prerequisites conflicts with a mod you are using (especially if that mod is a prerequisite for another mod).

It doesn't take a genius, it just takes time, patience and paying attention.

My mods broke a 40 hour save, so I get to start over.
