HD Texture Pack
I guess the textures were updated for the Anniversary Edition and I don't need to download any like the original release? Thanks for confirming.

Confirmed.

But they were updated for Special Edition 6 years ago.

No, the Anniversary Edition does not include updated textures nor HD textures. The Anniversary Edition consists of the Skyrim Special Edition with additional downloadable content.

The closest you can get to an HD Texture Pack for Skyrim SE/AE is the following mod, which upscaled the vanilla textures with an AI upscaler:

You are misinforming him. Original High Resolution Texture Pack was integrated into SE at the time of its (SE) release.

He has already got SSE. So, no, there are no new updated textures for AE.

Ye, it's always a difficult choice for me too - to be a troll or to be a mind reader.

He has got the mouse icon to his name. All he needs is the Anniversary Upgrade, but not the Anniversary Edition (which consists of Skyrim SE and the upgrade).

I have the anniversary upgrade already. So I should still go for the above mod?

The above mod is a huge improvement over the AE updated textures.
However it is not the best solution, especially for the filesize. But it's basically Vanilla++, so if you like the vanilla look it is worth getting.

If you want better textures for your game that look completely different though you have a lot of other options like Skyland AIO, Noble Skyrim, Cathedral Armory/Landscapes/etc. which are significantly better IMO but may be too much for what you want.

It was not your initial question. This mod is a 3rd party mod. Whether you should go for it or not is for you to decide.

The answer for your initial question is as I say - original Oldrim HR Texture Pack is already integrated into the game regardless of whether you have AE upgrade or not.
