How to lock frame at 30 fps ?
My game goes from 60 fps in some areas to 35 fps in others, because of this, someone knows how to cap fps at 30 fps?
I did that in the past using the ini. file, when i was playing the game, But now i forgot how to do that.

The easiest way to mess with your .ini files is BethINI:

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/4875

It has a section for locking your framerate, among many other features.

If you want you can install the SSE Display Tweaks and HDT-SMP for improving your fps:
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/34705
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/30872

If you want more help with improving your framerate then let us know and we can share some more tips.

In addition to the above, if you are using an ENB, then you can set the FPS in that. You can set it either using the in game ENB dashboard, or in the enblocal.ini located in your Data folder - this is what you need to look for in that:
[LIMITER]
EnableFPSLimit=true
FPSLimit=30.0

Usually it is also possible to do this in the options of your gpu driver (nvidia/amd). If you use monitoring programs (MSI afterburner, EVGA precision, etc) they also have this feature.

At the end of the day it doesn't matter which method you use, they all work the same way.
(I use msi afterburner because that's what I'm used to)

To do this i don't need any mod right ? Because i remember in the past lock my fps at 30 not using any mod.

In SkyrimPrefs.ini:
[Display] iPresentInterval = 2

This will halve the framerate. You need to have a 60Hz monitor to limit it to 30fps obviously.

The above mentioned mods are not your normal type of mods, but either external programs (BethINI) or .dll files (ENB, ReShade). SSE DisplayTweaks uses SKSE, which is also a .dll with an external program as launcher. None of them will mess with your savefile if this is what you are worried about.

I still recommend you use BethINI. It is a simple application, which acts as a user interface to many of the .ini file settings and it explains their use and purpose with tool tips.

If you have an ENB installed, then nothing else is needed to do this.

When you do not know what ENB is the you will not have it installed. It is an external .dll, which allows to inject graphical post-processing operations on top of many games.

You find the SkyrimPrefs.ini file in "...\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition".

If [Display]iPresentInterval=2 does not work try [Display]iVSyncPresentInterval=2 as I am not sure if or when this has changed or whether it is an alias for the same thing. The [Display]-part means you look through the file for a section that starts with [Display], in case this is not clear. There you should find the present interval setting, which you have to change to 2.

You can do that ingame, just use Shift + Enter to open the ENB overlay and look for "FPS limit". Enable it and set it to a value you want.

Just once. "FPS limit" should be near the top left of the ENB overlay.

Just don't forget to save it properly in the ENB UI after you make the changes - before you close the UI.
