skyui not displaying in game
right off the bat i have to point this out im using a steam deck, its my man and only pc in fact, and ive been trying to mod skyrim using a mod manager with some success. every mod ive tried seems to work except for the odd ones, meanwhile, something as simple as skyUI doesnt seem to.

i have no MCM. when i open my inventory its the default one from skyrim. any ideas on what could be causing this? ive tried manually putting the skyui folders n the skyrim folder didnt work either.

One thing you can try is to download and install this "SkyUI 5.2 SE Plugin with Master Added" https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/67166 There is an anomaly in SkyUI's coding that this addresses. Since you are using Vortex, this flaw shouldn't have anything to do with your problem, but Skyrim sometimes defies logic and expectations and it won't hurt anything to try this.

I've never used the steam deck, but I might have a solution. Within the game go to mods, press T, if skyui isn't there then I have no clue. Best of luck.

Do note that folders are case-sensitive for Windows games. Having multiple with the same name is not good! Although I have never used the Steam Deck, I do use Linux on a daily basis. I hope this helps at least a little

1) What's your Skyrim version?
2) What's your SKSE version?
3) How are you installing SKSE?
4) Which mod manager are you using?

Skyrim AE edition
Dragging and dropping SKSE AE files into my Skyrim directory and replacing the original launcher with the SKSE loader
I'm using vortex but saw a tutorial for mod manager 2 on the steam deck so I might switch, though this tutorial mentions nothing about doing it with a SD card

If you're talking about the load order, idk since the key is Y for me, yeah the file is there, but enabling it does nothing to help.

One odd thing I've noticed though is that if I quit the game and open it back up I have to re-enable it again, which still doesn't work
Steamdeck is it's own platform, you might want to find a guide for installing SKSE64 and SkyUI specifically for the Steamdeck..... just a suggestion

there are a ton but none touch on installing skyui, just skse... which ive done without problems and works as intended. and skyui should be as simple as drag and dropping in a folder or mod manager but neither work

As i said, Steam Deck is it's own platform, it will have quirks and problems nobody who doesn't use it can help you with... I don't know why SkyUI isn't working, but only someone who has a Steam Deck can help.

but every other mod ive tried seems to work, skyui is the exception which makes me think its a problem in specific with skyrim anniversary edition or skyui itself
