That's fine in case of the important things, but why fix things that actively are fun like exploits. Again even the oblivion one didn't fix the most blatant commonly known exploit in the game
Why fix things nobody wanted fixed?
Tbh, if other mods didn't need it, i wouldn't even use the patch
Exploits are basically cheats. Why bother about it? Just use console to cheat whatever you want.
And some exploits (like famous resto loop) was fixed by USSEP team unintentionally as I know. They fixed many other bugs and as a result it so happend that all those fixes together break the resto loop.
Also some exploits were intentionally (once again - as I know) never fixed. Like telekinesis exploit.
Some of us perfer breaking the game within the bounds of what the game allows. Its also useful for challenge runs, like trying to beat the game with some absurd ruleset
For me, using console commands is not rewarding or fun, but using exploits to speed up tedious grinds (in the case of the Soul trap Exploit) is fun. Im not saying everyone should exploit as some people wont like it, but just telling people to 'just use console commands' is not the same experience at all.
All im saying is i wish their were two different options, one for fixing exploits and one for not, on the downloads page, which isnt unreasonable.
Many of these fixes are for consistency.
Dawnstar's chest: why was it the only one accessible? it didn't make sense, it's not a special chest or anything, it's just an ordinary merchant chest.
There is a mod that makes all merchant chests accessible, they require a key of course, but they are all placed in visible locations.
as i've said in this thread this is why there should be two different files. one that patches exploits and one that doesnt. i dont think that would be too difficult to accomplish and would please everyone
I wouldnt even have an issue if this wasnt a MANDATORY mod for many other mods
So the reason for that is pretty simple. We are just humans not gods. There is a very short list of things we are able to create in reality.
Considering several other mods on the nexus are capable of doing such a thing, some of which over multiple GAME VERSIONS i really doubt you no offense.
Again, if this mod wasn't mandatory i wouldn't have a problem. But it is mandatory for so many things to work, if many other mods can do similar things with multiple versions again some over multiple game versions, then this can too. I don't think I'm being unreasonable here, and if you don't agree then we have to agree to disagree there.
"why did you fix aimbot"
the fps version of this problem.
Nope.
It take time to make mods, tracking down bugs, and glitch and tweak them and what not.
Asking them to make 2 files? nope. Not their jobs to accomodates peoples for something that the majoritee want patched since it shouldn't be there.
And because your taste goes beyond what everyone originally want, the burden to find a solution (As you did, meaning a patch that restore those exploits), is on YOU. Not on them, but on you.
Yet again. I'd prefer it too. I just understand why it is as it is.
No, no, you are reasonable. You are just more or less clueless of the mod development problems especially with mods as huge as USSEP is.
Its not accomodating to me, its accomodating to a portion of the playerbase, a quick google search reveals im not the only person who likes exploits, we are a valid portion of the skyrim community. Skyrim is a game all about tailoring it to your specific wants, thats the fun of modding
You can run a super vanilla+ experience or turn the game into a souls-like thats the fun of it.
I think its wrong that USSEP ignores a chunk of the playerbase who like playing with exploits, simple as. If you disagree then we have to simply agree to disagree, but its clear that i am not the only one with this opinion. Exploits are a valid thing in this game to enjoy and im simply saddened that a neccessary mod removes them. Nothing more.
