You will probably have to verify files on steam to rebuild your directory. There is really no harm to your game leaving it installed either.
But what did you use to mod the game? The mods you used should be still somewhere outside the game-folder from where they were copied/linked. So what stops you from reinstalling the game and redropping those mods?
As for the save-files, simply check when they were modified last time. Deletion of CK should not have affected them, so if you redrop your game+mods exactly how it was they should work with no issues.
Didn't use the creation kit for any modding, was just curious about it and thought to explore it a bit. Yeah it seems my mods still have a copy on the mod manager I'm using, so at least it won't be as hard and time consuming to install them again compared to the first time I did. I'm just worried about those installations that would require some manual stuff and not just installing it from the mod manager.
With my saves, yes they are unaffected but with my research before delving into modding, it's not a good idea to alter/change/update your mods when you start playing in general because it might introduce instability. This is what I'm referring to about my saves being broken.
Yeah that's what I did, sleeping on it really calmed me down. With some work I think I can still try to replicate what I did before. I still have copies of my mods thanks to the mod manager, at least I don't need to download those again.
I know that modding has its risks but regardless of modding, I think it isn't very clear that the creation kit is super tied to the main game. Let's say you don't have any mods at all and just installed the creation kit for some reason, uninstalling it will still remove the main game and you'd be force to redownload the game/files.
