Using Hamachi for Skyrim Together.

Hey, so a friend and I want to try out Skyrim Together, the multiplayer mod. However, I found out that the mod requires the use of Hamachi. Now, I did look it up etc, but I still feel somewhat uncomfortable using hamachi as I don't want to mess my pc up or have it infected with viruses, which are things I have heard can happen. I trust my friend, but I am super protective of my pc and private information, so I guess what I wanted to ask is A, are there any hamachi alternatives which would work with Skyrim Together but are safer to use, or B, would you say hamachi is safe to use, and if there are any precautions I should take, please suggest them.

Hamanchi stopped working for the latest release.
So it’s not even going to work, the faq for ST lists other ways to connect to those that are not in lan distance.

I can play from south america on a NA west server just fine with my friend, we never needed hamachi, give it a try.

Please don't use hamachi, years ago it was amazing, then they launched a new version with adds, those later gave you spyware and whatnut, and then it became so crappy it didn't function anymore. Maybe i still have the old installer somewhere on my first laptop, but just use something else.

Just because I am super protective of my pc, are the playtogether.gg servers safer to use? Like, they aren't as likely to give viruses etc?

Playtogether servers are just servers where only you are given the password to use, essentially it’s like they made a private server with a password and port forwarded.
I don’t think it is even possible to get a virus from a Skyrim together server considering how they work.
