Base of Operations
Hello I am playing a Khajiit Light armor char who will adjust his combat style as time goes on, right now he is a Warrior, gonna end up as a Spellsword(well spellaxe but idk if that is such a term). I am looking for a good safe place to store all my goods i dont sell or have my followers use(gonna have at max 2 i think) was thinking Tundra Homestead but when i bought that place there is little to no storage to store out my loot into different chests so its not all in 1 or so/ I am gonna end up displaying it all in the LOTD museum but i am not sure if i am gonna live in the safe house that i get. With the houses available in the normal AE game is there any the gives atleast 7 chests to store my loot in? I feel like that is alot to ask for & i am probably gonna be disappointed in the responses but i want to know i have like 10k gold to spend on a house but i started my game it Skyrim Unbound Reborn so gonna need some work to become a thane for a house but my char has decided its time for a good located base/home to work out of.

All 3 are CC houses.

I don't know for sure how many chests each has off the top of my head but my suggestion still stands, even if you're going ot get LotD later, Hendraheim is a good first choice, it's also free provided you can defeat the key holder.

Bloodchill Manor is also free come to think of it... However getting that one is much harder than Hendrheim, more out of the way too.

I will head over that way & check it out yea i was hoping the cellar of Tundra homestead would have some chests beside the racks & etc but it didnt. LOTD has a chest for each weapon type & armor but that is abit of over kill in my mind.

ARGH!!! ok Hendrheim has no chests in it expect for the one buy the forge which i would have used to store any ores & etc i have. Does have some storage but it would be mind boggling to get it straight in my head what is where. For being a Home added by a Mod i am not feeling that great at the extent of how the 2 houses i looked at look. Idk if you would call it a mod per say but it it something not included in the original game or an official ad-on/DLC. Might just make the trek up to Solitude & start LOTD... :steamfacepalm:

Try Myrwatch. It's totally free of charge and is the best official house in the game as for me. It has a lot of chests.

granted it does have the most # of chests i have seen in CC homes but i am giving up on any of those houses, plus my warrior isnt looking for a mage themed home right now, my current follower might want to live there but not me right now. Thxs :whiterun:

I have been looking on Nexus and i have found some i like but the location again is fairly off from what i am looking for. Lake Haven (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/2860) would make me very happy but when i lok at the updates it from 2016 so unsure of stability. Next 2 are tied they are Elysium Estate SSE (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/4119) & Mammoth Manor (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/9710) again both mods havnt been updated since AE came out so nervous of putting them incase they incarese my chances of CTD's or other issues. Any1 who have used those mods since AE came out to tell me how stable they r?

Essentially this is an aesthetics issue vs a practical one. Containers in any of the homes you have dismissed are capable of storing tons of items. If you've not a chest, then use a safe, closet, cabinet, etc etc etc.

True i just see certain items in certain containers plus i dont have to have to try to hunt down the right one for what i want to sort out once i get back, if its all over the house.

Ok i have tried the 3 i listed they were good but i am not gonna use them after exploring them there were small matters that bothered me it was mainly how most of the items on the tables & etc were not lootable. I found a mod for Tundra Homestead(Tundra Homestead (CrystalTower15's Edition)https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/68796?tab=files) & i tried that and i really like that so i think i will use that alters it to be more my liking & it makes it more reasonable for my char to use(Applying some logic to what i do but its mainly what i wanna/feel like). I looked at Hendraheim mods the only one i found adds a huge basement which in my mind doesnt work for me idk why it just doesnt click.

Started to move into Tundra Homestead, with the mod installed :whiterun: Got the all the alchemy stuff in the room with the alchemy lab, & soul gems in the room with the enchanter. In my room put light armor in 1 wardrobe, heavy armor in 2nd wardrobe, clothing, in the 3rd wardrobe, & jewelry in a strongbox. Food & Drink went in a cupboard, will work on books next time i get on alot of book cases to use for that. Only issue i am having is Melee, & Ranged Weapons i have no clue where i am gonna put them that will make some what sense , just might take an arrow in the knee & put them in a bookcase :steamfacepalm: Its very easy to knock things off shelves in the house might look for a different base once i get rdy to send followers back...

By Storage you mean bookcases yea, i read on the wiki that the Displays are bugged & i dont want to lose anythin(idk if any of my patches or another mods fixed that issue so i am not gonna put any out). If i want to display anything i will do it in LOTD. I just want a place to come to to eat, sleep, mayb make some potions when i start, & store any good gear i got that is not on display in the museum..

No, I didn't mean the bookcases as I never use them anyway. I'm talking about the basement area where the mannequin's are as well as storage chests, and wall racks. I have never once had an issue with them.

The barrels in the outside smithing were bugged but those were fixed in game version 1.6

And, I also use the Unofficial Creation Club patch. Never had an issue with Tundra Homestead.

Plenty of things are said in forums though, some are true, some are not.

Staff of Shalidor is a home inside a staff. Lots of storage, but it's not available to your followers.

I dont have the Unofficial Creation Club patch i guess i should get it before i play next, unless you think that will break a few things?? I sorted out where to put stuff, i stored them under the enchanter in the 5 cupboards 1 for Light Armor, Heavy, Melee, Ranged, & Staffs..
