I downloaded the Moon and Star quest mod yesterday, but it prevents my game from loading, I still want to do the quest, so how do I fix this?

Moon and star shouldn't cause this issue. As for your game not starting, how many mods do you have? There's a limit to the number of plugins you can have in SE. If you go over 255, then your game won't start. Note that not all mods will count towards this limit. Only mods that have esp files count, so your number of installed mods CAN go over 255, but no more than 255 of them can have esp files. Its why you often see mods with esl files instead. You can have up to 1000 of those installed, btw.

I have 53 mods in total, do I need to list them?

And it's weird, but the game won't start at all if MaS is activated. It'll say it's running, then stop

That is quite baffling. You should probably ask about this on moon and star's page. You're far more likely to find help there. Check the bugs section, perhaps someone has already reported this issue. Maybe the mod just doesn't work with the latest version of skyrim. I have heard some people complaining about how a lot of nexus modders are making mods that only work with older versions of the game.

I tried disabling everything esp too and nothing
I can try that, when I checked the mod wiki it said nothing about that, though

Are you sure you downloaded Moon and Star for Skyrim SE and not Oldrim ?

You may be right, I'll give it a go

That was the issue, thank you!

I had no idea that installing an oldrim mod in SE could do that. I've only done it a couple times myself. One is a texture replacer, which has been working perfectly fine. The other was a sound replacer which didn't work, but I could still run the game with it installed. Guess now I know what actually happens if you try to install an oldrim mod in SE without porting it.

And for the record, re-texture mods work fine in either game. Both games use the same file types and in the same way. This is why you rarely see re-texture mods getting ported; its not necessary. So don't let this little event put you off from installing oldrim texture mods in the future.

In this case it's the BSA that causes the issue. They use a new BSA format for Skyrim SE and it won't start if a mod still uses Oldrim's BSA format.

I got the new mod, it's all solved now
