If you're really missing a tanning rack, open Creation Kit and add one?
A propos: I have a player home mod that introduces a complete smithy room, inclusive a tanning rack. So it depends of the author to include that or not. Or they did not thought at that when working on their mod.
Right off the bat, I recommend Riverside Lodge:
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/9567
The nice thing about this one is that there are no separate game cells that require a loading screen.
There's also Mammoth Manor:

I'm using this one in my current play through. Again, no separate cells with loading screens.
I used Elysium Estate for a couple of years:
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/4119
It has everything, but there are game cells with loading screens. There's even a small quest attached to gain entrance.
Lol Funny, I like small houses mod that have only a bed and a cooking fire. When they cram them with all the stuff? They become unintersting.
Try me I've done it ....
There are plenty of cool mods out there that i have used, plenty of cool homes. (I really dig winterhold beacon) But there are also many homes that don't have all the things that would make sense. I have seen it multiple times, but I just tried out East rock estate, a cool mod with long quest, a pretty home, lots of halls, pictures, glowing orbs yada, yada, yada but no tanning rack. so basically unplayable, after an hour of effort.
it's a rant people
This... I am thinking about it. I have no idea how to mod but I think I am going to start. wish me luck
Rayek's End is between Riverwood and Whiterun. If you need a place to hide, this place is hard to see even when you are standing on it. It has all the crafting stuff.

Undergrowth Hollow is another hole in the ground. Mind the current residents. This one is on the West side of the map just south of the Dragon Bridge on the East side of the river. This is a better place for an alchemist than a thief but if you need to hide from the Thalmor, this is a nice place to chill and craft whatever your black heart desires.

I still install a bunch of castles but I don't buy or live in them. I just think they look cool and add flavor to the horizon.
Neither of these will be easily found by anyone not specifically looking, and even then, there will be some work involved.
Thank you!!! I had tried Rayeks end but was a bit annoyed with the layout... beautiful mod though. But the undergrowth hollow is awesome, thanks! (I had looked through the player home section on nexus, had not gotten that far yet.) I did find the frozen storehouse via the bethesda mod list, which is pretty cool for anyone else looking.
On the other hand however, when they seem to have racks or mannequins or whatever for everything, that's great. It's handy, it usually looks good and it's great for the ocd.
Right up until they're missing something obvious such as the tanning rack or an entire collection, or one of them doesn't have enough space.
I mean, if you're going to start adding spots for collections, may as well add them all.
Over here we have marked spots for the daedric artifacts, over there the insect jars and the paragon gems. But nowhere for the black books. Also the dragon masks are missing a spot.
That annoys me far more than it should.
If u get the "mage home" from the creation club, it comes with a mask rack!!!!!!!
None of them have spaces for the New Coillectibles either (Green Butterfly in a jar is sitting on a table).
