Hide Helmet for Player only?!!!
Hello,

I have a cool Armor Set but it looks bad with the head piece, so I want to hide it but I still want to get the armor bonus from the light armor skill tree, so I cant unequip it either.

I searched for Mods on the internet but the only mods i found are mods where everyones headpiece gets removed. I only want mine to be hidden.

It requires that you have the item (Ebony Helmet, as an example) already in your inventory. Then you can make an Invisible Ebony Helmet. I think other armour parts can also be made invisible, but I was only interested in headgear. Works great and keeps the stats, and can be improved/enchanted.

This may not be the direction you want to go, but I'm not aware of an invisible helmet mod. There are mods like Complete Crafting Overhaul Remastered which will substitute a circlet with the same armor value as a helmet of a given material (Steel, Dwarven, whatever) so that the perk tree bonuses are preserved. If memory serves, the mod requires that you have an appropriate helmet in your inventory at the time you craft the circlet, but the circlet counts as a helmet thereafter.

There is also a Helmet Perk Remover mod which removes the helmet requirement from the Light and Heavy Armor perk trees, but I have no idea how that might fit in with perk overhauls like S.P.E.R.G., PerMa, Ordinator, etc.

Do you need it at all? Dont use it or put on a circlet or something that dont show as much.

One of my chars is a barbarian and i dont use any helömets on her, i do use circlets however as they doont show much at all.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Actually, yeah. A helmet effectively doubles armor rating. With set bonus. Granted, if it isn't a matching set it's probably just a 25% bonus.

Yea but you can get max armor rating anyway (later on).

I use circlets and armored hoods. Only when my smithing is not yet sufficient I use helmets.

True, you would kind of have to rush enchanting and smithing though. And it would take way longer to level heavy armor/light armor if you can't take hits. Then again, I only play on legendary.

Invisible Armors by StarShowMaster. Both heavy and light, and unlike other similar mods not only do they not deform your character if you modified it but they do not occupy the same slots as the regular armor so you can wear both at the same time.
