Follower Tweak Question
Is there a way to remove follower spells? I have been playing a pretty heavy play through and I started out going to Dawnguard at level 1 to get Serana.

Past few times I've played and done this she was pretty tame in terms of damage, but my god this time it gave her just completely busted spells that she immediately spams when they're done.

Gave her 2 spells that are 200 mana each (from the apocalypse magic mod), and DECIMATE everyone. She only has 90 mana... I see the follower tweak mod option and can see her perks/spells but it's stll just so insanely strong.

In the magic section there is an option to "unlearn equipped spells" have your character equip the spell you want her to forget then use that option.

I have follower framework (downloaded a huge collection instead of manual stuff).

Well there is more than one follower framework, but I've never really used anything other than AFT.

I guess it's Nether's Followe Framework, it's the most recent if IIRC.

If you know how to use xEdit you can alter Serana there as well. I haven't used it in a long time (near 2 years) so I cannot give you a walkthrough, but from what I remember it was not that hard to figure out.

Just checked and yeah it's that.

Yeah I heard that option too, but I'm not too informed on any of that stuff. Thank you though. I might see if I can swap out the Nether's Follower Framework with AFT.

Yep always be careful giving followers spells with large radius damage that can hit you.
I prefer giving them spells that only target one character so that they don't accidentally get me. I also use AFT and think that is the easiest Follower tweak dialogue system.

Sadly I didn't give them any. This mod pack is kind of random as to what the followers will do/learn/start out with. From body types to spells it seems.

Yeah, thing with Serana is that she's not a regular follower. Some frameworks are trying not not touch her a lot.

What I do know is that NFF supports spell removal, I did not have tried it on Serana though. It is likely being based on spells you've taught to the followers. It won't harm to try it out ingame, just revert to your last save if it goes bad.

Or ... did you consider this mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/37323

Well, I don't ever go as a spell user so I hardly ever bother with learning spells or teaching them. Plus the mod I have adds new spells which adds to the confusion of things.

I was thinking about reverting the save but I guess I don't know how the spawn system works? Is she automatically brand new the moment you start an entirely new game? Or when you go to Dimhallow? Or when you free her?

Serana will be set once you free her from the stone in Dimhollow.
Any mods that change Serana should be added before you get there. So definitely make / load a save before releasing her.

So the most annoying thing about this other follower frame work is it shows me a, "Granted spell tab" that I can disable any spell from. But, "base spells and abilities" tab is the one I want to edit which I can not..

She learns a spell called, "Twister" (from a spell mod pack I assume) that she just CONSTANTLY spams and it shreds absolutely everything in sight. I can't edit this part at all...

Ya Twister is a Spell added by Apocalypse, it's a master level spell that does 400 damage on direct hits 200 for indirect hits, I can see how that could be an issue.

The only soft fix I could find is just completely restarting the game, and hoping to god she doesn't spawn with it. This time she spawned spells called, Shattering Crystals, Cyclonic Rift, and Fingers of the Mountain (sometimes she'd get something called static dome too). All of which have as much mana cost as Twister.

The GOOD news is, it seems like she isn't just CONSTANTLY spamming this one like she did Twister. Despite having like 140 Mana total, she would CONSTANTLY spam Twister (200+ mana cost). The INSTANT it stopped, it was casted again.

Hopefully she just doesn't learn this with this new save/load scuff fix...

Well both Cyclonic Rift and Fingers of the Mountain are also Master spells, and it's probably even worse if she decides to use both, Fingers of the Mountain does no damage on its own but it causes an enemies to be "electrified" which will cause them to be stuck by lightning for 120 points any time they get hit with another shock spell...Cyclonic Rift is a shock spell.

Something in her AI is just making her use vampire drain and an Elven dagger so I'll call that a soft win so far. I hope she doesn't get into using them..

It's probably the damage, Npcs will always use whatever does the most damage, FotM does no damage and I think Cyclonic Rift does do very much unless you cast it a second time, but the AI doesn't know that.
