No Audio At All on Steam Deck
I have audio on literally every other game except Skyrim.

I have tried the following:
-Using different Protons
-Uninstalling Everything and Deleting All Folders including the Compdata folder that include the PFX folder
-Running the command line for WINEDLLOVERRIDES
-Uninstalling all mods and just running the main game
-Running in Window Mode
-Turning Off Steam Overlay
-Running in Desktop Mode and Game Mode
-Verify Integrity of Files

I started to enjoy Skyrim again after all these years... and in true tradition and fashion... the game corrupts once I begin to enjoy so then my next quest is to fix the game... oh joy.

Please help.

Thanks,
Layne

I don't use Steam Deck but maybe someone will pop in that does. Sounds like you might be on Linux. Also you might try the Steam Help thread.

Did you google "No Audio on Steam Deck"?

Hi san.maree8, welcome to the forum. Btw, it's always preferred to start your own thread which makes it much less confusing as opposed to helping multiple people in one thread.

On thing you might try is right click on your Speaker icon in the bottom right hand corner (down by your clock) and then select "Sounds"

Now select the "Communications" tab and make sure "Do nothing" is ticked. Then select "Apply". Go in game and check.
I fixed my issue. Here is how I fixed it:

I switched to desktop mode on the deck, then I started skyrim from within steam.... skyrim begins with no sound.... I ALT+TAB out of Skyrim and go into system settings..... scroll down to audio settings.... at the very bottom of applications..... you will see your game... in my case it was Skyrim... to the left you will notice the mute icon enabled.... unmute the game.

This accidentally happened somehow but the setting stuck with the game no matter what drive it was on, how many times you install and reinstall, etc.

I was driving myself crazy.

Thanks,
Layne
