Serena waited and doesn't follow anymore?

In the Forgotten Valley, I told Serena to wait because I was grabbing some items, however, when I returned to her and wanted her to follow me again, she doesn't have any dialogue option to do so. There is a dialogue option to remove her as a follower, but when i try to do that she says that she disagrees and she keeps standing around where I left her. It seems she is my follower, but somehow the dialogue option of making her stop waiting for me disappeared.

How can I fix it and make her follow me again? As I said, she still seems to be my follower, but doesn't follow me after I told her to wait, with no dialogue option to make her follow me again.

I play vanilla without any mods.

Thank you, as computer scientist I react allergic to light themes, though. Otherwise it is a neat alternative.
