Why cant you drag and drop load order in Vortex??
So I'm not sure what happened, but all of a sudden, all the mods were out of order. If I let Vortex auto sort it, it puts SKSE64 at the bottom of the load order, so clearly it has no idea what it's doing. I tried to move thing back into the order used in the Basic Vanilla load that I've been suggested, and that's when it gets crazier. Like, why can't i just tell a mod exactly where in theload order i want it?

Yeah. I was messing with that, and that's how it initially started to break. I thought it was just moving them above or below, but it was linking them to each other,which eventually caused conflicts when they started to overlap.

Would be nice if there was a drag and drop feature to move them manually up and down the chain, if only to at least be able to organise it the way you want.

You'd still need to have a proper load order which is what we want of course. And yes, you have to be careful moving mods.

One quick question. The big audio mod. It says in your guide to install it before everything else. I assume that it's too late to install now? Or will Vortex move it up to where it needs to be to work?

For the best results you should install it first. You can install it now and Vortex should place it high in the load order.

Here's what they say on the mod page

"UHDAP's audio needs to override vanilla files, and be overridden by all other mods (including USSEP). As such, the UHDAP is packed as .bsa files as this is the best way to ensure a correct load order.

The load order of the .esp files MUST be as follows in order to avoid conflicts with other mods:
Skyrim.esm
Update.esm
Dawnguard.esm
HearthFires.esm
Dragonborn.esm
UHDAP - MusicHQ.esp OR UHDAP - MusicUHQ.esp
UHDAP - en0.esp // replace en0 as necessary with respective language
UHDAP - enX.esp // replace X with the rest of the language .esp
... // Any other mods that the authors state should be above USSEP
Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch.esp
... // Rest of your load order"

Everything working well so far. I've reached the Majestic Mountain mod. When I go to install it, it says i need DynDOLOD. I go there to grab it, and it says there's a resources SE patch file as well for SE. Do we need to install both of those?

Most aren't listed in your list. I assume when I reach the ENB part, that I pretty much just pick which environment mod i like best. I'll be adding that Road upgrade mod for sure.

Congrats on everything working. Way to stick with it:steamthumbsup:

It's not that MM's won't work but it makes the distant LOD much better.

As for that video, I'm using most of his shrines in the new guide I'm working on. Excellent work by the mod author. Yeah they'll work just fine.

Yeah, i'm almost 40, so modding isn't new to me at all. Just this way of modding is. I'm used to just piling everything in, and at most, the loader that it uses lets you drag things around so it loads in the right order (i think the only time i needed that was in Fallout maybe. ).

So i'll grab the SE patch as well then. Let me know if i should remove it (though I'm guessing Vortex or the game will let me know).

I'll keep going through your mod list though and filling my game with goodies, adding the youtube content in there as I go.

Just saw that the .NET Frame work mod doesnt work in AE. Last updated a year ago. Sounds like most people have changed their mods to bipass the requirement now.

Edit: looks like the actor limit mod also has the same issue. Do you recommend using the downgrade patch, or no? I assume ti would screw up a bunch of the mods installed already.

As you said there is really not much need for NET Script Framework in most load orders anymore. As for Actor Limit Fix many of us are waiting on that mod to update which in it's case usually takes time as the mod author has many important mods on Nexus to update.

Here's the thing, unless you have a mod or mods that will increase the number of actors to more than 128 in a cell you'll be fine without it. You can always add it once it gets updated if by then you have mods that alter the number of actors in a cell beyond 128.
