Help with CTD - Could be Nemesis, or mebbe load order?
Thank you for any help!

New game, clean Skyirim AE install. Played for 2-3 hours with zero problems. Cleared a couple of dungeons, a couple of early quests near Riverwood, did fast travel...all with no hiccups. Walking from Riverwood towards Whitrun causes reproducible CTD every time. Seems to be an issue with the starting quest for Clockwork mod. CTD always happens within 15 seconds after NPC attacks you on the road and you read the note he carries (which adds info to map on next location to travel to).

I have tried to avoid the NPC altogether, but he gets killed on the road by another NPC, regardless. This initiates an onscreen notification that the quest started, followed by CTD w/in 15 seconds or so.

Papyrus log ends with something about "Nemesis CompareAnimVar (AnimGroup: _sprint, Value: 0, Priority: 0, Mod: XPMSE, Group: 1"

If that mod is the problem, why not try removing it or reinstalling it? Or why not find out the ID of that NPC then disable them?

Also it's GDDR5, not GDDRS5, don't know where you got that. The only extra variant of GDDR5 would be GDDR5X, and iirc only select Pascal cards had that. I had a Steam friend with the same GPU as you until he upgraded to the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 12GB GDDR6. He had Ryzen 7 2700 instead but has same amount of RAM.
I tried disabling the mod. That didn't fix it and the crash still happens. Maybe it has something to do with changing location/cell on the map? Still unsure as to cause.

If you disable a mod, you must go back to a save from before the mod was installed (unless it was a pure texture/mesh mod or one using only vanilla assets and spawns), due to the mod data being baked into the save, and which cannot be removed - so the issues will persist even if the mod is removed - unless you rolled back. Also, to troubleshoot your issue, follow the below outline:

(both links from PINNED TOPIC Helpful Links and Reference, Section 5, General Troubleshooting)

Also, please post your load order in the thread so that it can be easily referred to. To post your load order, in the top left hand corner of LOOT under Game, choose Copy Load order and paste in the reply box here.

For Vortex users, Vortex keeps a .txt version of your mod load order here:
C:\Users\[your name]\AppData\Local\Skyrim Special Edition\loadorder.txt
Find it and then copy and paste it here.
