It happens. Something attacks her while she's walking back, or a dragon drops on her head, or whatever. Fortunately you don't need her, the claw goes to Lucan (uh, think that was his name) to complete the quest.

Yeah, just doing the quest is enough for you to get a will payment. I did something in one of the other holds, a dragon attacked and killed a couple of people, I got 90 gold from one of them.

Apparently just retrieving an item for someone is enough for them to leave you a will and inheritance in Skyrim ;p

How dragon can kill someone in Riverwood when Camilla doesnt leave the shop? I dont understand that... I will understand that with Lydia, yes she can die, but random npc? Once Vampire ambush killed Belethor the trader in Whiterun, but now it was fresh start...

She does leave the shop, especially during the quest when she wanders up the road to show you where to go. But beyond that, characters wander around regularly. It's actually surprising how many random NPCs are killable, given Bethesda's usual stance on making everyone invincible.

Why she will be showing me where to go? I already completed the quest and she was in shop when I gave Lucan the golden claw...
