castle volkihar main DOOR bug

Hey guys so I am trying to take serana back home but i cant enter the castle. I got through the portcullis but the actual door I cant open. Ive tried several console commans ( disable, reenable, and tcl and some other ones) but it still wont let me in. Ive looked all over google and youtube the last few days and I cant figure it out. I found a mod for PS4 but that mod doesnt exist in nexus, the workshop, or even bethesdas mod shop. HELP! i cant continue the questline until I can open that door which means no vampire lord and no crossbows .

Have you tried rolling back to a previous save and approaching the situation again?

People are too quick to use risky solutions like console commands and mods when simply going to your autosave before you jumped to the island might solve the problem.

Also, are you Dawnguard aligned? IIRC, you have to go in through a sneaky passage to get her into her mother's room if you're Dawnguard.

Wouldn't it be funny if the problem was that you just didn't pay attention to the dialogue?

If it's just for the door: go into the console, click on it and write "unlock"
then you should be able to enter.
Otherwise just try reloding an older safe file.

Yes. I have tried going back 5 or 6 times to an older save. If I went any farther back I would have to redo like 10 levels and God’s knows how many quests. I’ve done the Dawnguard story before so I know what’s supposed to happen but I don’t have a cutscene or whatever when we arrive st the gate. The gate just opens and the watchmen says his normal thing and then nothing happens after that. No more dialogue and I can’t open the door.

Bug list on the wiki page for Bloodlines came up with:

PC If you cannot enter Castle Volkihar with Serana for the first time, open the console and type: player.moveto 020033b3 this will start a load screen and once loaded you should be inside the castle foyer. But Serana will not be with you, so then type: prid xx002B74 press enter, then type: moveto player and this will bring Serana to you inside the castle foyer. The quest will carry on normally from here, as though the two of you had entered through the door normally.
Another method that may work is loading a save from after the player has spoken with Serana on the bridge of Castle Volkihar. After making sure that the quest's stage is 6 by typing getstage DLC1VQ02 on the console, then type setstage DLC1VQ02 8. If this should work and Serana fails to open the gate, open the console, select her and type coc DLC1VampireCastleGuildHall, which will teleport her in the castle. Typing moveto player will move the player to her inside the castle. To check if everything has worked, the player can see the quest stage again, which should be at 10 at this point.

Sometimes the gate to Castle Volkihar does not open after the gate keeper says his line, or does not say it at all. This can occur if Castle Volkihar is discovered beforehand, although this is not proven, nor has this yet been addressed by Bethesda.
Fix: Type in console: setstage DLC1VQ02 10. After doing so, select the gate while in the console and type disable. You will be able to continue normally.
Fix 360: When Serana initiates the conversation about Castle Volkihar while still in the Crypt, finish it as normal and then DO NOT initiate any other conversation with her! Leave the Crypt and go to Volkihar Castle. (You might also get there by swimming instead of fast travel or using the Icewater Jetty.)
Fix: Use a plate to go through the gate into the castle. The quest will continue as normal.

Jouchebag, I am having the same issue as the original guy and the command u gave to get a loading screen to go in there myself worked but the command to bring Serana in with me didnt work. The second method u provided didnt work either. For some reason it just kept putting me in instead of Serana even tho I clicked on her and used the command you provided. What should I do?
