Guess I'll have to do some research into mods, it would be pretty handy is m couriers and shop keepers wouldn't die!

Though it would be nice if we could figure out why your couriers were not showing up - but it could just be a case Skyrim being Skyrim.
The courier did turn up as well :D

In my current game while I didn't kill the courier I have made him stop appearing for the most part. I used a shout in a city, then the courier shows up to give me the letter from a friend. I didn't bother to read the letter, and instead just reverse-pickpocketed him and put the letter back. He hasn't appeared to give me that letter again, but he has given me other ones.
The Fugitive sometimes has good loot. The Madwoman can be a useful human shield.
The Alik'r have curved swords. Curved. Swords. They are actually pretty decent weapons when improved and lighter than a lot of others.
