Did you download the correct game version? Did you follow the instructions? .dll files go into the Skyrim Folder and Data files in the Data folder.

No, the .dll files don't go into the Data folder. The files in the Data folder go there. The three SKSE_64 files, including the SKSE64_loader.exe go into the Skyrim folder. Place a shortcut to the SKSE64_loader.exe on your desktop.

What version of the game are you running? If 1.6, then you need the so-called "AE version".

1. How many mods are installed?
2. Have you started playing? If so for how long?

So after install you launched skyrim at least once through the launcher. Detected Hardware and launched the game so it loaded and you could (and hopefully did) start a new game or load a save?

Asking because we want to be sure the problem is with skse and not the base game. Did you already install other mods as well before doing the above? If so which ones. Trying to establish the situation so we can all advise better. Mod Manager Type (if applicable).

"Nobody can get you where you want to go if we don't know where you are." - Likely Somebody smarter than me (Because if I am the best you got, you are .....sooo ......)

Edit: Vlad beat me.

Time to start with a clean slate. Completely from scratch so we can get rid of the mess.
Follow this guide to the letter. Everything. Also make sure you have the files it links
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2743619856

Then create a foundation. If you use Vortex it will install SKSE for you and if you try to install the wrong version it will tell you. Watch the video in the guide on how to install SKSE with Vortex (both of the next 2 guides have the video).

Use this and install the first 4 mods (plus a couple more are there if you like).

OR
Use this which has the same starting 4 mods and about another 150 or so.

In game, hit Escape Key and your SKSE64 and Game version will be down in the lower left hand corner of the window.

SKSE is a great mod. But it can take a few tries to get the installation down pat. Once you do you'll never look back. Many of us had to learn how to install it the old school way. First we learned all manual install. Then later 1/2 manual 1/2 mod manager. Then Vortex came along and made it so Vortex would handle everything for you, and as I mentioned will even tell you if you try to use the wrong version of SKSE64.

Will even tell you when an update is available.
