Unseen Visions: cannot attract Ancestor Moth swarm
I have been walking around Ancestor Glade for quite a while. So far I have collected four swarms. I need seven. Just spent twenty minutes and still cannot get to number five. Suggestions?

From https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Unseen_Visions#Using_the_Draw_Knife

"All of the swarms are flying around the Ancestor Glade and are in no predictable position so you just have to run around and find them."

That is what I have been doing. I watch YouTube and they collect the seven swarms in five minutes. I have been at it for over 30 minutes and still only have four. I thought I was missing something. I get right in the center of all the moths (butterflies?) but no luck. I will keep trying. Thought it was worth checking in here. thanks. RR

If you have the Canticle tree bark on you, they should automatically follow you - if you are running past them or through them and they are not, then there is a definite problem. Are you using any mods? If so, please post a sorted load order so that people can scan it for any problematic mods. To post your load order, in the top left hand corner of LOOT under Game, choose Copy Load order and paste in the reply box here.

For Vortex users, Vortex keeps a .txt version of your mod load order here:
C:\Users\[your name]\AppData\Local\Skyrim Special Edition\loadorder.txt
Find it and then copy and paste it here.

Another way, if you have Vortex already open, is directly from Vortex:

1. Make sure you are in the "Mods" section
2. up top - select: (folder icon) "view"
3. from the dropdown select: "Open Game Application Data Folder"
4. Choose "loadorder.txt"

Either way is fine.

It is suggested NOT using the "Modlist" option (far right) as it can be wonky.

Keep moving and pausing (for maybe 5 seconds), moving and pausing......

I remember having issues with that quest way back when, the first time I attempted it. Yes it can seem a bit wonky but it works just fine. I've never had a problem with the quest since that first time. Just played it again a couple of weeks ago.

Oh, and explore the entire Glade as you move and pause. Forget about which spot looks good, cover the entire area.

The only mod I load is the Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch

Then it is probably best to try as Vlad said, moving and pausing.

Hurray! Seven swarming moths. I just kept walking and pausing. Finally got there. Very frustrating since I had no options other than walking and waiting. Not like in battle where I cold try different weapons or strategies. Thanks for your help. Knowing I was on the right track gave me the patience to continue. RR

I doubt it's a conflict. I have run a few different load orders with the new content and over 900 mods. Now is it possible? Sure, anything's possible. But having played that quest dozens of times and knowing how wonky it can be I'd have to say it's not usually mods, and going by OP's latest response....... yeah try moving and pausing.
