Animations not running
I've banged my head against the wall, trying to figure out what was going wrong, but I'm stumped. So now, at the cost of losing dignity, I'm coming here looking for help

So erm, to keep from being banned or any underaged from going to the site (we all know the rating system ends up BS) I went to a certain site that was nether bethesda nor Nexus, full of content you would usually never see on ether of the prior sites.

I installed some of such, but I couldn't get any of the animations to function at all. At best, nothing happened. At worst, the pc and npc would simple phase into each other, with the pc only really appearing and just standing there (the npc occasionally weaving out. Just basically both standing in the exact same spot and glitch into each other, just standing there) while the animation was supposedly 'running', and when it was supposedly 'over' (again, they just looked like they were standing still the entire time, even when glitched into each other) the npc would reappear where they were standing.

At first I thought "Oh, maybe these mods simply weren't made for normal skyrim models, given, erm.. their creators' preferences"

So I dug through youtube videos, and found How To videos for animations and installing CBBE and bodyslide, along with some sort of skeleton? I thought it was all required.

Finally finished going through all the tutorials last night, went to boot up the game, and it's gotten even worse.

Now every character, from my player character, to every NPC I saw (while I could stand to use the game and resist just shutting straight off because of the error) were just standing still, T posing. They'd move around the rooms, but only in that T pose. In fact, my PC, while character creating, looked like she'd shrunk.

On top of that, when checking to see if, erm, my character's CBBE model had loaded, I found the, erm, left boob looked pretty much caved in. I don't even know how that could have happened.

So, any chance anyone knows what I did wrong? Any chance it's a simple mistake I can redo or reinstall? The only thing out of place I know at this point is Vortex and the initial launcher yell at me for 'not having SKSE installed' for having Sky UI installed. Except I went about installing SKSE manually, and I know it is in fact installed because I was actually able to use Sky UI normally while in game (the tutorial I saw for that said to rename SKSE to pretend to be the normal SkyrimSE.exe file, so it'd launch on it's own, when I kept having an issue where Sky UI kept claiming SKSE needed an update and would shut down every single other mod because it 'wanted that update' (it's a fresh install of the anniversary edition. I know it's up to date))

I just can't see any ends where I'm going wrong at this point. I even caught a typo for a mod that kept it from working initially (instead of a . ini , they used .ini0 or something like that, which kept the configurations from being read correctly.)

Please be gentle with any mocking, this is honestly the first time attempting any of this type of, ahem, genre, and I only went there initially because I was told by reddit that was where I'd find mods for being a bandit (well, reddit told someone else) and well, yep.

I assume you have FNIS installed? You need to copy and paste the text here, that is in the GenerateFNISforUsers.exe window when you run it.

Also copy and paste your mod load order here as well.

Did the OP even run FNIS at least once? Also is the OP using Vortex, because the more I hear about that MM the more I don't want to go anywhere near it tbo.

What you're hearing is likely anti-Vortex propaganda. There's nothing wrong with Vortex. I've been using it for over 2 years and have ENBs and Animations installed and running with no problems whatsoever.

Yup from experience, animation mods when they don't work correctly it's only because the mod wasn't installed correctly, or the skeleton.nif isn't installed.

I didn't think to run FNIS at all (I can't even think of what the acronym is, I was just running through so many that said 'oh my X mod requires this' and it was one of said requirements. All these, erm, spicy mods, shall we say, were just in the search of getting the requirements for one single one :torielsad:) So I just ran it. here are the results:

Creature Pack not installed

4715 animations for 15 mods successfully included (character).

0 possible consistence issues

I can see a few aren't reading as Special Edition compatible (I found I made that mistake mid way through, before the game completely stopped doing animations (at first it just wouldn't do the animations for the mod specific, so I was troubleshooting that, and then bungled into all of this.) because at that point there seemed to be no problems, I just didn't bother to change them out.

Could they be the problem at all? If so, any recommended alternatives possible?

It doesn't look like you have the XPMSSE skeleton installed. Note that it MUST load after ALL body/skin mods in your load order. It looks like you do have a skeleton, but likely it's not the XPMSSE skeleton. You may also have Oldrim versions of some behaviour animations. When you install the skeleton, you have to check the box in the list of patches for the skeleton.

Okay, I reinstalled the skeleton, and when I went to ensure it was below CBBE, I noticed RaceMenu wasn't enabled for who knows what reason. (Also, I saw the DD not compatible section, took a guess at what that may be, and I managed to disable those ones. dunno if they really helped stablize it or not)

Enabled it, and it seems like most (not all but a bit embarrassed to say which. Will go to *that* site's forum if I really need/want to) of the animations finally work as intended.

Only thing still having issues that I care about is Sky UI.

It's not disabling any mods anymore, but it now refuses to function itself (or at least, itself in it's basic form, it's letting all mods that require it function it seems)

Also, mod configuration disappeared. Is there some way I can get that back?
