Any idea how to fix this lighting glitch?

Often, especially on rocks in snowy areas, I see these random, floating dark patches (see my latest screenshot on my profile for an example). This issue has been plaguing me ever since I remember. Any advice to stop it is appreciated.

It looks like the snow is not rendering, if you are using a snow mod re-install it.

It's been a while sice I used Obsidian, your not running fog or anything are you? ELFX does warn about mods effecting weathers.

Vlad, at the bottom of the picture he has that starry-rock looking stuff that you helped me fix a month or so ago. You had me disable a snow shader or something in the .ini.

Is it possible the two could be related and that might also fix his issue here?

If you disabled odsidian you would then have to re-install ELFX and if still no results start a new game to properly check it.

Hmm, trying to remember, not sure exactly. Are you talking about the white specks? If so was it the snow sparkles. Maybe something else like snow shader or maybe the Projected Diffuse .

Does not matter if you have both running in the same load order if that's what you mean.

The only time that would matter if you use ELFX exterior lighting/Weathers
because you can not use another Weather mod with ELFX unless it's ELFX interiors.

yeah, more likely something to do with a lighting and/or shadows issue.

Yeah, usually, and particularly when it comes to water, these dark effects are possibly to do with one or more of the AmbientLightingIntensity settings under the [ENVIRONMENT] section of your ENBSeries.INI according to mindflux (author of the particle patch) so if any of those settings too high, then these types of meshes will just turn black at certain times of day because they don't scale well with these settings.

I'm working on this right now with my water in my current load order. The problem is not always there, matter of fact it's rarely there and even then it's not huge sections that are effected. So in the case of Realistic Water 2 you can either download a darker gradient for the water or fix the existing textures (.dds files) You can do pretty much anything in a editing program like Photoshop or like Paint.net by changing the brightness, saturation, hue, or alpha (transparency) of the textures to your liking.

I know which textures are involved in this issue with RW2 but I have not seen this issue yet with my mountains so have not looked into it as of yet (if in fact this is your issue). You might pop over to the Particle Patch mod page and ask mindflux if he has a suggestion. Maybe it can be tweaked in an ini or with his particle patch.
