bug: Civil War Champions quest is non-existent??
I just finished the Civil War on Anniversary Edition, and I was saving the Civil War Champions gear for after, so it could feel like a cool reward for helping the Empire win the war. So I looked up how to initiate the quest, and since I sided with the Empire, I was supposed to receive a "Letter from the Empire" to start the quest. The Courier has gave me tons of letters, but not that one (I checked thoroughly).

Is there a fix for this? I tried spawning it via commands but it didn't start the quest.

How long ago did you side with them?
Not sure if this is what you are referring to but sometimes this info gets buried disappears over time thus do not advance.
Explained here

It was one of the first things I did in the save file, however I definitely don't have enough active quests to have it removed from my Journal. The problem is, the quest wasn't given to me at all.

Sounds like this triggered a long while back which makes is very painful to load a save from before that event but if you've tried advancing through cc's then reloading an earlier save is the solution.

Someone may come in with a suggestion in the mean time.

Thats unfortunate if I have to load all that way back. I was level 10, and I'm level 40 now. I think I'll just keep looking for fixes, thanks tho

To be honest at that point I would just console command the armor into your inventory and watch a youtube video of the quest itself or just skip it entirely. No point going back so far just to have a mediocre looking armor set and do one quest.

Since AE came out there have been fewer letters for starting quests, it's entirely possible you need to read a note, or talk to someone to start the quest.
There is a list on the wikis of AE content, the items usually contain links to pages on the quests, including how to start them.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

You may have to enter the Drunken Huntsman (again), either for a note or to activate the courier, depending on when you installed/activated this CC content (before or after you already joined a side in the Civil War).

I did this and immediately got the letter from a courier after exiting the Huntsman. So problem solved, cheers!
I went and checked UESP one more time and it did say you need to enter that shop at least once to trigger the letter. How anyone's supposed to know that without looking it up is beyond me. I literally never go in the Drunken Huntsman unless its to kill the hireling to power the Ebony Blade lmao

It's like that for all the CC content now, you need to read notes or talk to NPCs to get the quests to start, but there is no hints a s to where the notes/NPCs are.

I'll take it over getting most of the quests as soon as you leave Helgen, but I do wish some of the places were better hinted at. All this time I was looking around Castle Dour for the Champions quest, because thats the obvious spot if you join the Imperials.

I don't want all the quests at once either, but they needed a better way of doing it, like maybe asking for rumours at any inn, say let the innkeeper mention a couple of rumours and we can ask after them, starting the quest.
