SOS and s3xlab mods

I have tried everything to make these mods work. Vortex and MO2. I have downloaded ever related required mod and still nothing. Should I give up? Does these mods work on reg edition? Has AE made it impossible? Please tell me something. Hopefully how to make them work but I'll even take they don't work anymore.

Vortex and MO2 are not mods, they are mod managers if that's what you mean.

Those mods are out of date- they need to be updated to work on the latest version of skyrim se and skse64 ae. skse64 AE 2.2.2 (game version 1.6.640)

You could just downgrade to 1.6.353 from the skyrim downgrade patcher under the download files. I did and game works fine.

In Loverslab, search for "SE Compatibility Tracking".
It's a dedicated topic with the status of adult mods in relation to 1.6.640 update, spoiler alert: 90%+ is not compatible/updated.

It's recommended to downgrade to 1.6.353 (or 1.5.97).

Don’t know about Sexlab though related mods seemed to be uploaded to the Nexus fairly regularly in recent months so idk if it was ever compatible for 1.6.353 or not.

SOS, I thought I had read somewhere that it technically can work with 1.6.353 but it wasn’t updated for it and can cause issues

So I was able to downgrade the game. Ive loaded all the required mods and I still am not seeing Longsword house in Riverwood!! I must be doing something wrong. Ive watched so many tutorials and followed all the steps. Can anyone help???

I'm not on my gaming computer to give version numbers but you need the following.
Scholongs of Skyrim full version.
Delete the .dll from your root folder.
Install SOS AE
and everything should work.
If you are using Himbo or skin mods look on the mod pages for loading sequence orders.

I downgraded back to 1.597 or something. Still get SOS AE version?

I am about to give up!!!!! I have been trying to make this work for almost 2 weeks!!!! I finally found a step-by-step here https://skyrimromance.com/installation/ I could load the game, I was nude but not Schlong shops. Bishop was in town and a few NPC's noticed I was hairy. I walked around like a scarecrow and when I tried to look at the SYSTEM section the game crashes. I reloaded all the mods...AGAIN!!!! and I deleted the dll file but no the game will not start at all!!!! I did upgrade back to the AE. Please for the love of Dragonborn some please help!!!!

You need SOS AE if you have the anniversary edition. Since you updated back, then yes you need it. I was wrong the .dll is in the data folder not the root folder. (it is a single loose file)
It might be best to delete everything manually and start again and test only on a new game. The installer for the full version has the option to add the store, make sure that is checked. If you delete everything, you'll have the option again, or use reinstall with your mod manager.

Do you need SKSE64 for SOS AE? When I try to download the AE SKSE the game will not start. Do you happen to have the name of the .dll in the data file? When I search *.dll I am not getting any hits.

This is getting complicated with skse versions. I'm rolled back at 1.6.6.3 I think, I don't even see it on Silverclock. If you can wait, when I get home I can layout some better info with links.
