The "What's Working, What Isn't" Thread
It sucks when an update comes through and sends the mod community into a tizz, but in time everything usually calms down and what needs to get updated gets updated in most cases.

If you're a heavy mod user though, it may be time consuming to go through and check if mod x has been updated, needs updating, or if it's unaffected by the update and "safe" to keep using.

So, here's an idea to help the community as we move through this time period of updates: a community collaboration thread to alert others when a mod is updated, in need of updating, or doesn't require one.

What I'm asking from those who wish to contribute then is thus:

If you know a popular mod has been updated and is now good to go with game version 1.6.640 please list the name of the mod and say it's been updated.

If you know a mod NEEDS to be updated and will not function with the current game version, please list the name of the mod (and if you know anything regarding it's update status).

And finally if you are wondering if a mod is updated or needs to be updated, please list the name of the mod (and if you are someone who has the answer for that person be helpful and reply to them).

Anyone have any “insider information” about powerofthree and what’s going on with him?

He was updating at least one of his mods every day or two there for a bit, but he’s been silent for almost a week now it seems.

Hoping he’s just doing them all and gonna upload them all at once instead of one at a time.

Lots of things rely on SPID and BOS, the former especially.
If dynamic animation replacer isnt getting an update, is there an alternative?

Pray that the mod is still supported.
Yeah I’m not sure what’s going on with DAR, people in the Nexus comments are saying the author hasn’t shown activity since December 2021…it would be a shame to lose DAR and all the animation mods I use that require it, but with how popular it is someone’s bound to make a new mod that’ll do the same thing if this author doesn’t start showing signs of life soon.
Mfg Fix is pending being added to the “working/updated” list.

A “1.6.629+” version was uploaded recently, but just like with CoMap it’s not clear yet if this version is compatible with 1.6.640.

You’d think it would be, given the “+”, but I don’t know why some of these guys don’t just put 1.6.640 or make a note of it on their page…

Also, an update for JContainers SE may be appearing soon. Apparently the maker put an updated version on their GitHub according to comments on the Nexus.

[NOTES ABOUT "1.6.629+"]

If you've been following along with the thread you may have seen mention of some mods on the list of those needing updated receiving updates but being for "1.6.629+". For those unaware, 1.6.629 was the first of the two updates that dropped recently.

I have chosen not to move these mods up into the "working/updated" list yet because I do not have enough evidence to confidently say that they work with 1.6.640. I have not seen/heard enough to say one way or another.

The following mods from the current "needs updating" list have gotten "1.6.629+" updates:

- Mfg Fix
- CoMap
- Powerofthree's Tweaks
- Engine Fixes SE Updated (a recently made and released version of aers' SSE Engine Fixes by Doodlezoid)

If you know for a fact that any of these mods function as intended with 1.6.640 please drop a line.


[NOTES ABOUT GOG VERSION]

It appears that the recently released version on GOG has a different game version: 1.6.659.

Unless Bethesda pushes out an update to bring the Steam version up to 1.6.659 as well, I will not be concerning this thread with whether or not a mod functions with the GOG version, this will remain focused on the current Steam version of 1.6.640

For anyone interested.
This came out earlier on Friday afternoon from Doodlezoid. You'll need to install SSE Engine Fixes as is and then install this.

obviously this is not an official update.


there's some talk about aers saying he was going to update his mod (SSE Engine Fixes) (and hopefully soon). But this is up for now (there's a temp. gog version as well)

Can you? Yes, but I would not recommend the nav\console “fix” you may see others suggest. That will only replace the .exe and more files need to be reverted than that. There is a “downgrader” mod that exists that others swear by, but I have not used it personally.

Those of us with many mods aren’t entirely screwed. I have no doubt that I will need to leave some by the wayside if I ever plan to play a modded Skyrim again within the next month, but the longer some individuals take, the more likely a more active modder will be to swoop in and make their own version if its a worthwhile mod or a utility one that many others rely on.

That’s one thing I’ve learned from this: a lot mods rely on a core helping of utility mods, and if the makers of the utility ones disappear or take their sweet time, it jams everyone else up.

For my preferred LO, powerofthree, the maker of DAR, and the maker of SmoothCam are jamming everything up. I have quite a few mods that rely on SPID, animation mods that need DAR, and I grew very fond of playing in third person and would like the better third person camera mod (SmoothCam) to be functional again.

Powerofthree was updating his stuff and then he just seemed to stop about a week ago after updating 3 or 4 of his less heavily used mods. The maker of DAR apparently hasn’t been seen for almost a year. And I don’t know what’s going on with SmoothCam as it needed TrueHUD and True Directional Movement, but those were updated days ago.

I did catch a comment one maker left (I forget which mod) saying he’s waiting for someone to update some tools so he can fix his own mod so the issue has another layer of waiting to it.
I am wondering if anyone is having problems getting XPMSE to work with the latest Steam version of Skyrim? I have been having problems with fast traveling / entering new cells since Bethesda updated Skyrim. I have isolated the problem with that skeleton, regardless of the latest build on Nexus. Has anyone else encountered this situation? Thank you.
