Still cant find the best ini settings for sharp/no flickering shadows
I'm using the BethINI tool as we are all.
But I don't like the SSE shadows. They are quite much blurry, flickering, etc.

I want really SHARP shadows, without flickering.
I found a lot tweaks, but for "Oldrim" - most of them are doing nothing to SSE.

Anyone has solution for it?

Anybody?

SkyrimPrefs.ini look for the line iShadowMapResolution=

Type in a resolution that fullfills your need for shadows to look sharp.

I believe Ultra is 4096, not positive if you can use higher values but if you can better hope your GPU is up to snuff.

Well indeed I have that setting on 4096 running it on a GTX1080 so if you have the same or better you have no problems.
Get Yourself ENB for SkyrimSE.
just google "Skyrim SE ENB" and find the treasure yourself.

Oh yes lets advice a potentially draining enb instead using an ini tweak ... I have no enb, but also no flickering shadows.

The resolution of the shadows doesn't making them sharp on not flickering.
I already have them in 4096.

I already have ENB.
Doesn't matter also for the sharpness of the shadow or the flickering.

Shadows sharpness & flickering is a matter of ini settings; which I'm not good with the ini settings.
Just adding larger resolution shadows or enabling ENB, is not solving the flickering of the shadows (tiny, when you focusing on the ground and you looking carefully) or the blurry (even a bit, but still blurry) of the shadows.

I want sharp realistic shadows (the shadows becoming blurry where they are drawn from distance or there isn't strong light) and without flickering (even tiny).

I tried for ever, I used every possible combo of BethINI, I even tried more tweaks, I still can't enjoy good shadows. All my shadows looking fine IN DISTANCE, but they are still quite blurry in close up.

I mean, its ok to have blurry shadow on an object from a light source quite a bit long. But doesn't make sense to still have blurry shadow when you have a fireplace and a wood post 1 meter away - the shadows should be VERY SHARP. Or, when you focusing on a short PLANT on the ground - the plant's shadow shouldn't be quite sharp on the ground?

I don't expect the tall tree nearby, but from that short plant I should have sharp shadows on the ground - or FROM ME, my own shadow (my character), should be quite sharper than a tall tree aside me...

Anyone has solved this? Anyone has really good shadows?

Think you could give me a screenshot of what your shadows currently look like?

I want something like these, you clearly can see how much more sharp are these shadows:

Aside from increasing iShadowMapResolution (2048, 4096, 8192) you can do nothing about it, unless there is some magical tweak I'm unaware of. Going higher than 4096 would probably kill your framerate though. There's also no iBlurDeferredShadowMask parameter you could tweak to decrease/increase shadow blurriness, like in Oldrim.
