How To Play Original Skyrim (+ Mods)?
Hey everyone, after playing Skyrim way long ago on Xbox, I wanted to try it again, but with mods. However, I from what I've read, most mods don't seem to work with the Special Edition [including, admiitedly, some more adult mods that I was interested in trying]. Is this true, and if so, how can I buy the original game and its DLC still?

As a followup, what's the best way to start using mods in Skyrim as well?

I don't know of any aldut mods that do not have at least beta versions for SE. If there is one, let me know and I will port it for you

Check Skyrim Special Edition Nexus. That's where you find the mods that have been prepped already for the 64bit version of the game. And there's a LOT of them. Not as many as for old Skyrim, but still a robust amount, especially since SKSE exists for special edition now.

In other words, op's info about the state of mods for SSE is stale. The mods are catching up. In a year or so it will probably be SSE that has the most mods.

I'm assuming as adult mods You mean CBBE/UUNP body types and slutty armor, I have no idea if there something like sexlab or whatever are ported. Special Edition has most mods from oldrim.
Not all of them are under same name. I even saw HTD physics( at least something similar) for SE.

Check pinned threads on both forums and I think You still can buy oldrim with DLCs.

maybe OP should specify what he means with "adult mods". for me its the type of mods who doing kinky stuff or coming from LL.

Yes sexlab, SOS, sexlab solutions, matchmaker, and more have been ported. More Nasty Creatures has been ported if you are in to that sort of thing
