Open cities - major regret with this mod
I came with the mod section. Couldn't find it on nexus but turns out its present on the mods menu. How I regret this mod. All cool to ride into riften and whiterun. However it tended to create parallel worlds via a certain spot in Markath and Whiterun.

So I turned it off. Next you know, I discover another issue. I have to turn it off just so that I can coach it on AE to Riften. Otherwise it won't load. What a pain.

Wondering whether this stupid mod messed up my entire game. Wonder what else is going to bug out with this save...

If you removed the mod and continued playing from that same save, your game is totally borked. The vast majority of mods CANNOT be removed mid-playthrough. If you remove/disable a mod (with certain specific exceptions), you must either roll back to a save made before the mod was installed, or if one is not available, start a new game. There are no other options. For full information on this, see:

You CANNOT Remove Mods Mid-Playthrough -

smr1957 is correct. In particular, large mods that overhaul huge areas of the vanilla game. ANY mods of this nature can only be successfully removed and gameplay able to be continued, is if you can return to a save prior to installing that particular mod.

There is one other option: roll back to a save where the mod was still installed, and reinstall it. You can get the mod here:
https://www.afkmods.com/index.php?/files/file/1905-open-cities-skyrim/

Be aware though, if you were using a different, earlier version of the mod, and not the updated one, there may still be issues. So make sure you test it before resuming your playthrough. (And it MUST be on a save that originally had the mod installed - if you do it on a current save where the mod is no longer present due to you having removed it and not rolled back, your game will still be borked - but even worse, if that is possible.)

All arthmoor mods are s*hit. Avoid Unofficial Patch as well. Especially for Oblivion where it destroys fps.

i use Open City Mod from the day it come out and i never had a Problem with it same for the Unofficial Patch.Near all Bugs and Problems with such mods that change a lot of things are User/Player made.More a Mod change more Patch for other Mods it need.Mods are not always easy Install and go.First read always exact what the Mod do then think if some other of your Mod change even something in a same place when yes look for a Patch if there is no Patch make one by yourself.Modders spent a lot of there free time to try to make the game better so player can have a better game if they want without the need of making to much Work.To write that some one free Work is all ♥♥♥♥ is not real nice.

As said before never ever disable open cities during play it will cause problems I've done it a long time ago never again. Even IF USSEP is bad a LOT of mods needs it so yea .... I rather play with than without USSEP due to all the bugs it fixes.

Absolute nonsense. It's your opinion. yes .... I get that. But his mods aren't "♥♥♥♥". The Unofficial Patch is not only a great mod, but it's *necessary* - unless you want to deal with Bethesda's dozens and dozens of broken quests. Without the USSEP, my game was always broken with almost all quests. I've been using it for years, and since I installed it, no more broken or glitched quests. The USSEP fixed almost everything that Bethesda left unfixed. Your sweeping statements that all of Arthmoor's mods are "bad", is pure propaganda nonsense. Sounds like you have some kind of axe to grind with your posts.

Just one quick bit of advice. For many people who are new to the forum, it is difficult to determine whom to listen to, especially since there are a lot of transients who pass through and those newer to the forum may not know who they are and who the long time reliable members of the forum are. To rectify that, in the pinned topic Helpful Links and References, see Section 6, Miscellaneous - Reliable Forum Regulars, for a list and explanation. Those are people who have proven themselves over the years - as opposed to some who have just started posting and have no track record of reliability.

Well, it seems every time I want to fast travel to Riften I have to go to menu, mods, enable. Fast travel to Riften, save, then reverse.

Those parallel worlds... was wondering where the Whiterun wolf armour smith guy went to...

I pair USSEP with RUASLEEP since Arthmoor introduced a lot of subjective "fixes" into the mod, and RUASLEEP reverts if not all, but most of those changes back to vanilla while keeping actual fixes intact. I'm not sure it would be better not to use USSEP than to use it tbh. It does indeed fix a lot of crap.
About WACCF I'm not sure. Been using it for quite some time with no issues. Maybe I just haven't dug deep enough into it.

Don't play their game. I have almost all of the "trusted forum regulars" blocked. That leather gym club is just straight up cringe.
Being a somewhat helpful regular on Steam forums doesn't mean other people have no experience in modding or their opinion on certain things related to mods is negligible because... reasons.

Hey.

If you have facts that others could use, then don't block us. Jump in and explain what you think we are doing wrong.

I have never turned my back on anyone, who can factually explain where I went wrong. In fact, I take it as a compliment of pointing out honest mistakes.

We are all trying our best to help other players to get most out of their games. If you think you can help with that, then that wold be appreciated.

:steamthis:This, indeed. The only criteria for being on that list is having a consistent record of giving correct information - and there are many who are not on it, like yourself, StreamWhenGuy, who are extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the game - in fact, I have thought about adding you to the list (whether you like it or not, and whether you like me or not, as those two things are irrelevant).
