Defeat Ancano

How to do this. The quest is totally opac. I have that staff and aim it on the eye. The eye closes again. Then he attacks me and tolfir, but I can not damage him. Is this a bug?

Do you have the SSE Unofficial Patch? This is fixed with the patch.

It is one of the most annoying quest. But I have did it several times. last 3 runs on Legendary. One issue with it is the Ice Wraiths. The most annoying creature in the game for me. And I use no unofficial patch. Or mods.

Yeah, patch was not needed. My failure was not to close the ball again and again. He eludes the sight quite often so you not aware that the ball has opened a slight bit. I now used the staff in the left hand and the dawnbreaker sword in the right. Fired now and then the staff on the ball and hacking on Acano. The fight was suddendly faster over than I imagined.

Great to hear you finished it. And yes, that is the technique one should use to kill him. It requires some multitasking.

what ball is opened? just keep an eye on Ancano's health. When it goes down some, Charge as fast as you can with best weapon. Oh. btw I used to get my teen son to kill him in Oldrim.

The Eye of Magnus makes him invincible, you need to hit it with the staff to close it and make him vulnerable again, are you thinking of the right guy?
