Noticed this as well. For example I hired a follower from a follower mod to be my Goldenhills Steward and she remained living in the workers house.. I'm thinking if you assigned a NPC from the game like Annekke you want to assign Goldenhills as their home with a mod for example like Nether's Follower Framework.
Or I can use AFT which has the ability to set their home as well.
That is indeed a good one, I tend to sell my wheat over there anyway. So if I was normally going to head over anyway it really isn't out of the way.
Annekke also immediately went home after I hired her again, I guess she just isn't a great fit for that. I suppose I'll try Erik out, doesn't really matter if he stays or not.
I find Dragons a lot more challenging on Legendary.
