Staff of Magnus Bug :(

Hi! I just defeated Moroki (Dragon Preist that holds staff of Magnus) and the staff is on his body, but when I take it, it just isn't there. Not in my inventory at all. I reloaded the save, and the next time I fought him, the lightning from the staff showed as he attacked me, but the staff wasn't in his hand?? Adding the staff from console won't complete the quest to find the staff and my marker for it is on the floor. Please help :(

I have over the long playing time on this game have had quest items that I take not show up in my Iventory but weapons not being there is strange.. I don't mean to talk down to you BUT at time the weapon is on the ground some where but is doesn't sound like that is the problem with you. I had one game where some how I ended up with 2 staff's. You could try by doing an older save.
Lastly If you have the quest as your active quest (ONLY QUEST) bringing up the map should have a quest marker if the staff is on the ground or at some other location but using the spell clarvoyance (SP?) would lead you to it.

A invisible weapon could be a missing or corrupted mesh have you got weapon mods installed?

Honestly it's probably a mod problem. And yeah the clarvoyance just leads me to the random marker on the ground. I have a stupid amount of mods, the game was bound to break at some point LOL.

Is there a way to do a setstage or something to make the game think that I got the staff?

well problem is you need the staff to complete the entire college of Winterhold questline.

I'm having this same problem, did you ever solve it? I've tried disabling weapons mods and re-enabling them but it didn't fix it.

Getting the staff isn't a problem, you can just use the console command to get a different one. It's the quest not progressing that's the issue :(

edit: Figured it out!! Progressed the quest with the command SetStage MG07 50 and got the staff with command player.additem 00035369 1

I'm having this same issue. I've had it happen on different play throughs and with/without mods. Does anyone have any clue wtf is going on? I'm sick of using console commands to finish the quest.
