Lore bondage
So many, when talking about mods, regurgitate “it’s not lorrrreeee friendly”. Who made that rule? What is lore friendly....drab and ugly? I’m trying to build a bright colorful skyrim, and it’s not easy to find good mods to fit.

So, what exactly is your complaint? That when you mod your game to high hell into something that looks and plays completely differently other people - other people on the internet that you don't know and will never meet - might not think that your game is lore-friendly?

Seems very #FirstWorldProblems to me.

This is what I mean by lore bondage: “Much though I'd love flying whales to be an actual thing, it's probably safer to put this in the 'awaiting confirmation' category, rather than canon. Unless there are other sources on the topic? Please say there are, I suddenly really want this to be a thing”

In another thread, this poor guy wants flying whales, but needs to know it’s ok. Somebody tell him i said it’s ok.
Putting aside my previous joke about bondage of another kind, the point still stands that everything can be excused with the right Daedra, Aedra, Dwemer or even the Elder Scrolls themselves. For goodness sake, the Warp in the West was used to allow all of Daggerfall's endings to come to pass at the same time.
There was even a Cosmic Retcon which changed Cyrodiil into a temperate forest region from a jungle by Talos therefore is was always a forested regions as far as mortals know for certain.

The theoretical flying whales can just be lesser Daedra from The Shivering Isles or the product of Dwemer experiments if they aren't some new creation of one of the Divines.

pretty much this.

the only non-lore friendly things, are stuff which collides with the universum, like realistic cars or other modern stuff.

My complaint is that I can't find a tree mod for Whiterun Valley/Tundra are all Aspen based, like vanilla. (I am going with "Realistic Aspen Trees", "Simply Bigger Trees, Aspen version", "Whiterun Hold Forest", and "Trees Addon" plus "Morrowind Giant Mushrooms" for now if anyone is interested. ) There is a Spring Forest Overhaul that is taken down, but says will be back, and I will check it out if it does.

Also I can't find a good colorful green grass mod for that area. I'm using Verdant that is yellow/brown. There is a mod to turn it green, but it is not working fully, and is Yellow/Green Brown. Really beautiful actually. (I prefer the color mix over SOLID GREEN like another boring green grass mod) Also there is "Spring Grass Overhaul for Verdant" that is taken down. (what is with the green hate?)

My main point is because of lore bondage...it is HARD to make Skyrim like I want. Fantasy but realistic and not stupid.

(I can't even learn how to delete trees yet, so don't say "make your own mods". I don't know why I can't find info on how to do it. It is bizarre in 2019, with all the guides that nobody shows how that I can find or understand.)

ever thought that you may look for the wrong thing? instead of trying to find the answer of how to delete trees, you might wanna look how to make mods or more specific nature mods.

it's absurd to think that for every problem out there, there must be a guide present. especially if the question is so very specific like in your case.

Ironically I found in less than 2min an answer to your "how to delete a tree" problem. so you might not only wanna learn the CK but also level up your google skills :hardhat:

The other option of course is to pay someone to create the "perfect" mod you want.

You see, the issue isn't people wanting to stay true to the lore (for the most part they don't), it's that your tastes are just plainly weird enough that a modder hasn't felt the need to make one yet.

That's not "lore bondage", that's just people adjusting the already existing game world and not creating something different. The Holds have different looks on purpose, and most people work within that paradigm. That has ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to do with lore, it's just a design choice by the modders. if you don't like it, make your own mod or at least learn how to make your own edits to existing mods (and don't upload them as your own work afterwards).

No there is no guide to delete trees in the CK that I can find. If you show me the link, I'll send you $10 paypal. I can connect the dots and know how to do it though watching other things.
The trees are not loading in the CK. I've been trying for days. I reinstalled the CK a few times, and even just delete all my steam skyrim files. It's easy enough to do, I just can't do it. There is no guide to make a tree mod, and no I'm not smart enough to know without a guide.

Well, then maybe it's not meant to be.

Edit: ok my google skills suck. I never googled "ck" but always "creation kit". Digging through results.

It has been that way since Arena. In reality it doesn't matter if it's lore friendly or not, just play it how you want.
