Is it really this bad?
I've never played a vanilla run before. I have always used unofficial patches. I finally decided to give special edition a try and without a single mod.

Ye Gods! Is this game REALLY this screwed up?! How many years has it been now? This is pure insanity! I'm thankful for the creation kit and mods, but has Bethesda really fallen so low as to just rely on the modders to fix everything?!

It's like going to a poorly made horror show seeing all those bugs crawl out of the woodwork!

pretty much, modders make this game the selling point especially on PC. It's the ultimate modding game, but sadly they stooped so low trying to make mods cost money.

Yea why not, we are free. They have sold skyrim at least 5 different times now...

Didnt seem to work as well on their latest game though.

Troll much?

You complain without saying specifically what you're even complaining about.

You: "This banana is REALLY screwed up!" *walks away*
Everyone else: "Well now I'm wondering what went wrong with that banana."

Uhh, troll? Really? I wasn't looking for specific help. This was a general statement about the game as a whole, but since you want to be a dumbass... ok.

-Greta quest screwed up and can't be removed from journal now because I took the amulet before starting the quest.
-Ogol from the orc stronghold just died from Gods know what. I've gotten several letters of inheritence from dead NPCs I haven't been near in ages
-Whiterun is stuck in civil war mode and won't refresh. No items will respawn and that priest still yells about Talos.
-Can't talk to greybeards about words of power as they want me to go to arcwind point again.
-I'm standing on the 5th dead dragon that won't catch fire and give me its soul right now.
-My third house interior won't stay updated.
-I've lost several Daedric artifacts to a weapon eating wall plaque.
-Delvin forgets I did the special jobs and I can tell him I "completed that special job" over and over.
-No matter where I am or what I do any bounty I accur goes to whiterun.
-Blade of the Rift doesn't exist.
-I have several Blade of Winterhold
-The second dragon I killed in the game told me to return to Esbern, who is still in Riften, and I haven't even been to High Hrothgar yet.
-Forts have a tendency to put all the NPCs outside and aggro'd. Even Brandish from Neugrad was outside, outside of his locked library.
-Many shops won't remember I invested with them. Angelina won't let me at all, I can keep giving her 500 gold over and over.
-Isran is a master heavy armor trainer, only you pay your gold and get no skill increases.

These are just a few off the top of my head, but I can go pull up my screwed up journal and tell you more if you like. That trolly enough for you?

What does anything in your OP show that you're asking for "specific help"? You just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about Bethesda having buggy products... welcome to what, 15 years ago? I mean Skyrim is 7 years old now and it's been a known quantity for just this product at the very least. I'm not sure why you're shocked that the Unofficial Patches fix a lot of bugs.
Jouchebag Dec 17, 2018 @ 6:48pm
Off the top of your head... as in these are all the bugs you've heard about, read about, know about, but I guarantee you haven't encountered every single one.

Not that it even matters. Lots and lots of people keep buying these games. My protest is to just not buy them at full price.

Actually, those are all ones I've encountered in my game. You really live up to your screen name. You want SCREENSHOTS next? Because I can do screenshots.

At least the first two people understood before idiots started flooding in. I already know all about Bethesda. My post was about how I never played Skyrim vanilla until now. I've never experienced the imfamous bugs like dragons flying backwards or the starting cutscene cart getting lost in the woods. The post was about how bad the game is, today, and I am just now experiencing it. Honestly, can't say anything online without complete morons thinking they need to defend or call someone a troll. Stupid, stupid people.

So the point of this topic was to state that Skyrim has a lot of bugs with no fixes installed? Yeah... that’s not a surprise to anyone bud. Also I’m not sure why you would play through the game without the unofficial patch. Even if you were going for a ‘vanilla’ run, it’s not like it adds/alters gameplay in any way.

Yes, skyrim is indeed bugged beyond mortal comprehention, as it seems that it is against the laws of physics for a bethesda game to be bug free, skyrim being no exception, although some of the bugs are less serious than others. Keep in mind that some bugs are not universal, and just because you've experienced a bug, it doesn't mean that everyone experiences that same bug, although I have personally experienced several of the bugs you have listed there. That being said, it is still possible to play and enjoy an unmodded game of skyrim, sometimes utterly infuriating, yes, but still possible. As a general rule of thumb, it's probably best to experience one's first playthrough unmodded, with the exception of whatever bug fixing mods one finds needed.

Congratulations? Somehow we're all idiots for not fellating you when you discover something everyone else has known for the greater part of a decade? The only "stupid, stupid person" here is you if you think anyone really cares about your extremely dated input.

If you "approve" of the first two posters but not anyone else, all I can think of is that you wanted a giant circlejerk about how Bethesda sucks. Doing so just indicates that you want to troll. If you wanted some kind of actual discussion then maybe you should have put in those specific complaints you alluded to but never mentioned in your OP? And then not had a defensive paroxysm when called out for bad forum behavior.

Say what? You're clearly the troll. This game is still really broken without mods. OP is right.

This game is broken, rushed and poorly designed in so many ways. It is worth nothing without tons of mods.

Here's some simple math for you guys who are absolutely right but also totally pointless.

22,000,000+ people bought the game as of 2015, so at least that many people have SE since it was a free upgrade.

1,200,000+ million use the USSEP.

*smacks calculator like a jackass pretending to do real calculations already completed in my head*

5%

Bethesda isn't selling these games solely to you and your circle of internet friends who talk shop about mods. They're selling it to the whole world.

You are wrong because you are using an argumentum ad populum. Your opinion has been discarded. git gud at logic.
