Mod to nerf archery?

Getting literally 1 shot by bandits just isn't fun. Can someone recommend a mod that just cuts archery damage in like half or something, so enemies with all the archery talents aren't wtfbroken and I can enjoy not having to be basically godmoded with enchanting in order to survive 1 attack from 1 enemy?

Have you been smacked by a two-handed weapon power attack yet? Because that should do 3x more damage than an archer.

It sounds like you're in need of better armor or to upgrade your armor.

...or lower the difficulty.

I don't mind a melee power attack, which I can actually do more to avoid, clobbering my mage. I do mind a random arrow from some bandit 1 shotting me before I'm aware that I'm in combat (I gives 2 ♥♥♥♥♥ if its realistic, it's unfun).

There was nothing snide about it. I noted that

A) An archers shot is not the worst thing to be hit with
B) You can buy and upgrade armor
C) Lower the difficulty

Each being an honest and helpful piece of information.

You should look up the meaning of snide.

On another note, and still being helpful for some strange reason: Almost all the archery mods I've seen INCREASE damage. Normally when you want an enemy to lower the amount of damage they do to you, people would suggest just lowering difficulty instead.

That leaves an uneven difficulty where I can 1 shot everything. I want enemies to put up a fight, I just dont' want random 1 shots out of the blue from afar. 1 shotting melee enemies are far more manageable and I have far more tactics and spells for dealing with that in creative ways (summoning pets to get in the way etc).

I'm specifically looking to nerf just archer damage, that's it. I'm ok with high dps melee, and not 1 shotting everything.

Use spells in one hand and a shield in the other. It is a perfectly viable strategy.

I poked around with good old Google and I can't find anything for Special Edition that specifically reduces archery damage, but there are some for LE. Also, there are a few that increase the damage and play with the physics of the arrow. Maybe you can find one of those and play with the config to make it reduce damage instead.

I think the point of archery vs melee is to use cover and approach between shots. If you just want to thoughtlessly melee zerg everything it still seems like difficulty is the easier option.

yeah the point was to see if there was a mod with an unsuual name (believe it or not I've already searched nexus for "archerY" "damage" and "nerf") that I missed, but the only nerf I found was faith in people

I searched more than the Nexus. I searched the entire internet. So what I found wasn't just mods that matched my search but also forums, posts, topics, discussions about exactly what you asked here. I was able to use my faith in people AND my faith in a good search engine to come up with answers to someone else's question.

use SkyTweak from oldrim if your willing too port it. it can set up the game too your liking with it.

Yup, I did. Mostly because... who the ♥♥♥♥ gets 1 shot by ranged Bandits? Unless you're already running combat mods that up the lethality of enemies as it is.

TFW you are running mods that make arrows do 150% more damage and fly 150% faster

Dodging arrows is easy enough and if you just wear good armor/have mage armor/are smart you wont get killed
