[SOLVED] Q: Gerdur (Riverwood) gave me key to her house. Does that mean safe storage?

Hello,

I read Anise's (old lady) house is the best place for early safe storage.

But I was thinking: Gerdur gives me her key to the house, saying I'm always welcome and there's a free place to sleep.

Although I don't own the house, she gave me the key. It sort of reminds me of getting (buying) the key from the Jarl of Whiterun for my own little house. Or is it something completely different??

Is Gerdur's house a safe spot for safe storage? Or should I stay with Anise house untill I can afford the house in Whiterun?

The home in Whiterun is your best bet for safe storage. You will own the home and all of the containers within. Every container in every bought home is safe.

Yes I wish I had a home in Whiterun already, but now that I'm playing survival (-50% carry weight) I'm in desperate need of storage asap.
