Dark/Black face bug with a specific mod, load order independent
I had a few NPC's start to show up with the blackface issue. I narrowed it down to Consistent Older People. With everything else except that enabled I have no issues. And its repeatable.
Disable that mod, and everything is fine, enable it, and its back. xEdit shows no conflicts. I moved it all over the load order including below my Bashed patch and I still get teh same issue. I don't see many posts about it up on the mod page, so it doesn't seem to be a mod wide problem. I am close to dumping it, but if I could figure it out that would be nice also.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Tell the modder unless you know the NPCs being used, using CK > mod name > activate > actors > Race > highlight each name > use Ctrl/F4 > use facegen, OK each in turn > save in that mod, exit CK.

Just looking at the posts on the Nexus, a few people had the black face bug when it's combined with other mods. I'll just take my old people voices with younger bodies instead. No black face there.

Or if you don't like using the CK; open the NPCs with SSEDIT and get rid of the conflicts there; at least that worked for me.

I don't see any conflicts in xEdit when sorted for conflict losers. The CK and I don't get along for whatever reason on my end.

Im just not going to use it. Its a small mod, and its a testing game for a reason.

That sounds an awful lot like the vampire black face bug: if multiple mods touch them, then they all need to be loaded into the CC at once before doing facegen (a nightmare for mod distribution). Reckon it may be the same for "old" characters.

Problem is you have to know which actors are being used for the mod whether made up or original. If originals then Ctrl/F4 each race in turn, will take awhile. (highlight all in that race males then do females).
Also this depends on clothing either made for CBBE or UNP as they will sometimes cause issues.

Well; all I know is that I've never had a black face NPC that wasn't being touched by more than one mod.

Alright. So it seems that mod was not the only issue. Removing it fixed a bunch of NPC's. Then I went to the next town and there it is again. I may have to jump into the CK then. This should be fun to track down.

All of that is for tomorrow though, its time for bed.
