Vivid weathers mod.
I just installed this, and can set all the different weathers using the console just fine. So i sped up time by a ton, and waited a week or so of in-game time. Nothing happened. The only weather thing that happened was a bit of light rain, but it seemed the same as in the base game. Please help! It looks so good in the pictures...

Please post your LOOT sorted load order. To post your load order, just click on the 3 verticle dots in the upper right corner of LOOT screen, click on copy load order from the drop-down menu, and then paste.

If you have any other mods that effect weather (such as Wet and Cold) and they are placed after Vivid, they will negate changes (Wet and Cold, for example, must come before, or it will overwrite all the Vivid settings for Solstheim). Also, if you have another weather mod (such as Climates of Tamriel), you need to discard it, as you should only have one weather overhaul.

But until we see you load order, we won't have a clue.

Also, what do you mean you set all the weathers using the console? Vivid should work as is out of the box, so to speak. And, it is also possible that you just had a streak of nice weather. But please post your load order so we can see.
What I wouldn't give for some light rain. It's been chucking it down for three solid days for me lol. Can't see bugger all either, due to making it obscure your vision.

Just like home (rains quite a bit here).

Had a couple of spells of heavy rain - now some dry and nightime snow. Of course, here in Florida, we're still about a month away from the rainy season.
well 25-28 degrees (Celsius) here in Belgium ... and sunny. what the hell am I doing here I wonder. Normally a weather mod will effectively change the weather ... and lighting

This is the only mod i have installed, and i didn't use the mod manager. I meant that you can use the consol to make any of the different weather effects happen (rain, blizzard, fog etc).

You should always use a mod manager to install mods (especially one as complex as Vivid Weathers), unless, of course, you are one of those very few people who have always manually installed mods and knows exactly what they are doing - and even then it's not such a great idea. Which is why we do not recommend it.

Unfortunately, you may have incorrectly placed some files, and now you will have to weed them out before installing properly.

If this is necessary (and it may well be), see:

Yea, i guess i'll uninstall it then try again with the mod manager. I did have no idea what i was doing, but i didn't want to use the mod manager as i saw a site saying it wasn't safe to download.
NMM and MO2 are completely and totally safe. Check out the following for more info:

VERY IMPORTANT if you wish to successfully mod your game

As to other sites, they are filled with a tremendous amount of misinformation - some of it completely and totally wrong. Check in the forum first, and if you have questions, ask here.

Some of the people on the forum who are frequent posters and help others are the most knowledgeable people in the world with regard to the game. Basically, their word trumps just about any other source. (Usually members of the Coffee Room group, though not restricted to just them, as there are others who are also extremely knowledgeable.)

Ok, so i got the mod manager and installed it. I then went in-game and tried using the consol to force some of the effects to happen, but... it didn't recognise half of them so it didn't work. Not sure what to do now : /

Ok, so i got it to work, but... the weather looks horrible. The snow is barely visible and just looks like white circles, and there arn't many of them at all even when i set it to a snow storm. I guess the mod is just bad.
The mod is not bad, sounds more like the graphic settings on your end. But that is irrelevant - if you don't enjoy the way a mod looks or works - for whatever reason - it is best that you just drop the mod.

The idea is to enjoy the game, if the mod is not improving your experience, it is not worth it, regardless of the experiences that others are having with that mod.

Good luck, and hope you enjoy playing!
The weather in Skyrim is pretty poor all around, even with a good weather mod loaded up. You need to adjust your settings and tweak the settings that come with the mod to really get it looking nice.

Other ways include adding in one of the various texture improving mods and/or an ENB or ReShade. Just beware that stuff like this comes with a price on your performance and with a medium -> low end system (with regard to the required/recommended specs) you can turn Skyrim into a slideshow if you just throw things together.

Vivid is actually a really good weather mod, but it can affect performance. I use Natural and Atmospheric Tamriel because it's a lighter weight one. There's also True Storms, and a couple other popular ones. If you want really good weather, and effects, look for a combination of Weather + Lighting + ENB. Done correctly, it can make the weather a beautiful thing to look at, even if you can't see 2 inches in front of your face due to a whiteout.
