How do I empty soul gems

I have tons of grand/ greater soul gems but I've been murdering seekers and now they're filled with common souls. I don't want my soul gems to get destroyed, what do i do?

um.... soul gems are single use.
With the exception of Azura's Star (or the Blackstar if you choose the other option) and the Flawed Varla Stones. Azura's Star is a reusable Grand Soul Gem (Or Black Soul Gem if it's the Blackstar) and the Flawed Varla Stones are reusable Common Soul Gems.... and Flawed Varla Stones are from a CC mod.

OP wants to use them, which destroys them, but wants a way of keeping them after they've been used.

There may be a mod that does this, but I personally find it easy enough to purchase enough Grand Soul Gems (filled with Grand Souls) to fill my every enchanting need, and then some... so I have never looked to see.

To clarify, the OP had empty grand soul gems and they were filled with COMMON souls. So question is how to get a common soul out of a grand soul gem?

My advice is to use the common souls in them to enchant stuff. Sell that and buy new soulgems with the gold. There is no way - unless there is some obscure mod - to get souls out of soulgems once they are in. But gems are common on many merchants and can be easily enough bought - and you won't need all that many.

Second, when you go and soultrap whatever you see, carry enough smaller gems to keep your grand soulgems clear of the rabble.

Third, get Azura's Star, which is reuseable. That is it's unique ability and I think all of us carry it around.

Maybe there is a way (although I have not tested it).
Azura's Star and the Varla Sone are soul gems, without appearance identical to the normal soul gems, but with the exception of 1 or 2 keywords. Azura's Star has two additional keywords: DaedricArtifact and ReusableSoulGem. The Varla Stone only ReusableSoulGem. Maybe add the ReusableSoulGem keyword to the normal filled soulgems.

I read somewhere that placing them in chests does the same thing and easier to pick back up. Or do you have to save and reload game for that to occur?
