Retrieving missing skill points?
I seem to have lost quite a number of skill points due to changing perk mods around. I play with Path of Sorcery, and two or three times I started the game without this mod active and I was never refunded the skill points I lost when changing from the mod back to vanilla perk trees back and forth. I'm level 49 and I have 33 skill points, I should be having 48 skill points. How do I get them back, is there a console command where I can add them?

You really shouldn't remove those kinds of mods mid-playthrough, for exactly this type of reason.

That said, I don't know if there are commands to add points, but I know there are commands to add specific perks. I don't know them off-hand, but they have a list of commands on the UESP wiki

You are playing with a mod that uses custom scripts, launching the same save without the mod - and you wonder why it is buggy?

Game "bakes" (for the lack of a better word) script data in to save files. You are frying PapyrusVM and making your game both bugged and notably unstable, to a point where it is coming outright unplayable.

Sorry, but we can not help you. Most mods can not be safely removed from ongoing game. Mods using custom scripts and relying to xSE are 100% no-go in swapping them on/off during the game. This is the situation you have created yourself, possibly being unaware of how scripting engine and saves work.

I figured out a way how to bring them back.

I gave myself the first One-Handed perk that has 5 levels 3 times, that's exactly the 15 skill points I was missing. Then I respecced them in Apocrypha and gave myself 3 dragon souls for compensation.

I really don't give a flying fk about how the engines and systems work, and I think it's pretty obvious that I don't. As you can see, there's always a workaround.

There is no work around for your saves getting destroyed. That is the underlying point.

Your Papyrus keeps causing errors from missing script sources. Applying them back does not sort it out.

You can be as rude as you want, but consider the fact that people are trying to help YOU to protect your ongoing character(s).

In that regard, you might want read again what was written and consider your approach to this situation.

Should? Or *shouldn't*?

Don't ask for help then. You're getting an explanation to prevent issues in the future. You ♥♥♥♥♥♥ your game, you can deal with it yourself.

Learn to.
Otherwise we won't care about your problems....
And your workaround is a short term fix that doesn't address the cause of the issue....
i dont know console command to add skillpoints directly, but, you can add perks what you want to have
help "perk you want to add"
player.addperk id, where id is console output in ()

also perk can have some levels and you should add them all because mods like Ordinator add effects to character on every perk choose

You didn't help me at all. I didn't make this post to get lectures from randoms. The only actually useful comment is the one above this one, even though it came late.

The point is that you got lucky in this situation due to console commands. But there's not an easy "fix" like this for most issues caused by uninstalling mods mid-playthrough. You're more than welcome to continue to do so, it's your game, but don't expect it to be fixed.

There is no help, the below is why, and after this, no one need reply:

And I gave you a solution in my very first response, adding the perks back through the console. The same solution given to you just a moment ago. Sorry you can't handle being civil.

This.

These forums will try to keep your game going on. And yes, realizing what is wrong is part of it.

Do as you will, but prepare for the chance that your game will be toasted rather sooner than later. When you want to start a next character, you know where you made a mistake and hopefully you will not end up repeating it again.
