Moving Vortex installed mods to external SSD
Can someone please provide step-by-step instructions on how to move a modded Skyrim to my SSD without breaking mods I've installed through Vortex?

I've created a new Steam Library Folder on my SSD and moved the Skyrim SE install folder. All the tutorials I've seen on moving modded games to another drive all reference Nexus Mod Manager and not Vortex.

Moving mods over should be as easy as:
- Moving them over.
- In Vortex: Settings > Mods > Mod Staging Folder (Skryim Special Edition).
- Settings > Mods > Downloads > Download folder.

If Vortex does not detect links outright after restart then purge and deploy them again.

Vortex's mod staging folder would have to be moved to the new drive as well.
I think there is an option to move folders in settings.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Working hard. Currently at night shift. 1h 20m left from 12h shift. Then few days of rest, food, sauna and BEER!

Sorry about the caps there. I have no idea where they came from. My hands... they refuse to remove them. :ShockedOwlcat:

@SparkzMentalz Wiki should clear all problems. Tell us, if you can't get it done, or if you need more help.

Yes this ^

Simple as that. When I moved Steam and all my games this step was the easy part. Actually it all goes pretty smooth and quick.

When you say "moving them over", do you mean copying and pasting the mods to my SSD?
Ilja Dec 23, 2021 @ 7:46pm
Yep. You can just cop/cut and paste them there.

Can I do the same for the Steam Library folder? I am planning on getting an NVME SSD, and moving my games over from the HDD I've been using, because, well, it's a nightmare trying to run modded games from an HDD. I really don't want to have to reinstall Skyrim, or FO4, so again can I simply do a copy/paste of where the games are installed now, to the new SSD?
