Path to High Hrothgar

I'm at Turdra Homestead and I even tried to find a path from RiverWood. What is the best way to get their.

On your way to Helgen there should be directional signs pointing you to Ivarstead.
Follow the road leading there.

Or just beeline straigh to Ivarstead if you have it marked on map but unexplored.

From there you can't miss it where to go to High Hrothgar. Ask Klimek for the supplies delivery to earn some extra money for your climb too.

No idea where Tundra homestead is.

1. Whiterun - Go past honeymead brewery and cross the bridge towards whiteriver watch Pass the Something stone (I can't recall which one it is, has a necromancer). Hang a right and you should encounter a stormcloak camp. Facing the Camp (12 0clock) aim for 10-11 oclock and go up a path in the mountains. Go through that and you will come out in the reach (North of Iverstead). Follow the right side path past an abandoned well and across a stream. Go right (watch out for Troll) and follow the road to Iverstead. From there see Klimmik and a Bosmer talking. The bridge they are on leads to HH.

OP i made you a crudely drawn map how to easily get to Ivarsted and start your climb to High Hrothgar.

Or you could get the player home Volgun Estate get a follower Dalick and head SE from there up the trail to Ivarstead. Now if you have Demon Chest you can pick that up at the Dragon Tower Autumnwatch I think. Get the word and the demon sword then see Klimmeck with Sword armed and level it up on the way up the 7000 steps. Oh don't forget the spoon.

You could type tcl in console and fly straight there. Then it's easy to find the way backtracking

I go east from Helgen like people said.
No hard encounters along the way, just one bear at low level near honey strand cave but easily avoided. Much shorter and safer than the Riften route, or you can go north and east from Whiterun through Valtheim Towers, which then bends south but it's a longer route with more ambushes.

Go to Helgen. From Helgen, go East along the path through the mountain. Don't take any of the offshoots. If you pass a Stormcloak camp on your left, shortly out of Helgen, and then a winding hill with Haemar's Shame (cave) on the right, you're on the right path. As you come out of the mountain pass, you'll be in the autumn woods of the rift. Next thing you will see is the Alchemist's Shack (nightstand ONLY is safe storage) on the left. Then you'll get to some ruin debris, (leveled light armor and a skill book in that debris) and there is an intersection right after it, take a Left to Ivarstead. From Ivarstead, it's just going across the far bridge and up the steps.
