There is no such thing as "SKAE", as SKSE stands for Skyrim Script Extender, even though there is versions for both Skyrim and Skyrim Special Edition.
https://skse.silverlock.org/
There is a Preliminary AE build 2.1.3
And LOOT seems to think that I have AE, because I got the fishing CC or something.
EDIT: Okay, I see.
SKSE SE is now, for all intents and purposes, obsolete and will no longer be updated. SKSE AE should be used even if you don't have Anniversary Edition.
Correct?
New updates will be for SKSE for AE.
http://skse.silverlock.org/
Note the "runtime (game versions)" that's the key
As of 12/4/2021
SE v1.5.97
Current SE build 2.0.20 (runtime 1.5.97): 7z archive
AE v1.6.323
Preliminary AE build 2.1.3 (runtime 1.6.323): 7z archive
Oldrim v1.7.3
Current classic build 1.7.3: install via steam - installer - 7z archive (readme, whatsnew)
You must use the proper version for your game
Vortex users
IF you're like me and you did not update your game i.e. game version 1.5.97 is still your game version you will get a vortex message that says:
"Skyrim Special Edition will be updated on 11 November 2021. This update will cause Skyrim Script Extender and any mods that depend on it to temporarily stop working. You can read more about this change in the site news."
OR
"Update for Skyrim Script Extender 64
(SKSE64)
Latest: 2.1.3 Installed: 2.0.20"
Do not update your version of SKSE64 because you have the proper version for your game. Again, this is only if you did not update your game.
Edited to include more info.
Except it’s not clear. The newest version is listed as the AE version. Steam updated my game, but I do NOT have Anniversary Edition.
Do I still use the so-called AE version of skse even though I still have SE?
