There is also the summable mount from the one DLC.
I wonder if you have like the Unicorn ( my favorite mount ) and then use the summons one, does that mean the unicorn would not be at the stables after summoning it? Would the summoned one replace the non summoned at the stables?
Ya, Arvak is the summonable Horse from Dawnguard. The Unicorn goes to the College if you change mounts. Though why would you? The Unicorn if far and away the best mount, like it's not even remotely close.
There is the dark red colored one, which is not Arvak. And it is summoned, I think. I know it looks different than Arvak. But maybe I am wrong it is summoned?
But yeah, the unicorn is awesome. Has a ton of hit pts ( actually can not be killed I think ). He can even tank dragons. Plus with the Elves theme armor equipped, looks awesome.
Then in Dawnguard you can get the Summon Arvak spell and in The Cause you can get the Summon Daedric Horse spell. I've noticed some buggy behavior with Summon Daedric Horse that will sometimes cause the horse to become permanent and not despawn after the normal conjuring duration. For a while I had two moving with me when I fast traveled in addition to a normal horse.
All of them except Frost and the Dwemer horse will return home when you mount another horse. Those two have no home and just stay where you left them. Getting on a summoned mount causes your last normal mount to go home. The Unicorn's home after taming it is the College of Winterhold.
Oh...right, as pointed out above the deadric Horse, I don't really consider CC DLC, they are mods to me, official ones.
The Unicorn can die but it has over a thousand hp.
Wild Horses are also quite a bit stronger than a Normal horse, still pretty meh compared to the unicorn though. The dwarven horse isn't supposed to have infinite sprint, even though logically it probably should. It is however completely indestructible.
CC's are like any DLC in that they add extra content to the game and are officially supported like any DLCs are. For myself, they also install seamlessly like any DLC. Which is why I look at them as DLC's.
But it really does not matter from one's perspective. It is nothing worthy of debate. :)
So you have had the unicorn die before? I watched a video on it before I did the quest and the author said it was marked as essential and could not die. But hey, we both know, videos can be wrong.
No, that thing is an absolute unit...so I actually don't know. I assumed it could die like any other horse though, which is why that made it so damn beefy.
