I really want to change my HUD with Customisable UI Replacer but I followed a guide that had me install SkyUI...
Will I be able to install CUIR with SkyUI installed? Will I need to get rid of SkyUI to use this mod? I am quite new to modding but couldn't find anything about this on either of the mod pages. Thanks in advance if anyone can help!

I think you can use Customizable UI Replacer SE with SKYUI
as long as you don't use the SkyHUD version of Customizable UI Replacer SE

I'm not sure because I've never tried it.

I'm almost positive however that the SkyHUD version will not work with SkyUI

maybe someone else has used Customizable UI Replacer SE and can help you with that.

So I tried to install Less Intrusive HUD II SE and the Customizable UI Replacer version for that, and Less Intrusive works until I install the CUIR. I'm just going to the disable them for now until I learn more.

Probably best for now. You learned much already and sometimes we let our eyes get bigger than our stomach. Enjoy the fruits of your labor a bit. As you progress you can see what else you might want to add in a next load order. Congrats.

I must be that somebody else today! I'm using SkyHUD with SkyUI and they do indeed work together. In fact, you can edit elements of Customizable UI Replacer through the skyhud.txt file, located in Skyrim Special Edition\Data\Interface\skyhud . I think I chose SkyHUD over Less Intrusive because of something that it did to the sneak meter, though I didn't know at the time that it even had an MCM menu where I could probably change those things (I was in a mod-acquiring rush, we all know how that goes), so I might switch back. But wanted to go ahead and confirm that you can, and I even moved the health/magicka/stamina bars to the top of my screen using the aforementioned skyhud.txt config file, though it was an extreme trial-and-error experience with multiple quits and restarts to test changes.

1/10 would not recommend.
