SOLVED - Glitched fallen tree (Yorgrim Lake)

I started seeing glitched fallen trees. I tried reinstalling, deleting shader cache, running the game without any mods. How could I try to fix this? Thanks.

Yes, that's where I found my problem the first time. A total of 13 tree stump use that same base object (nif file). You are running SSE v1.6.353, as I am. Have you installed the update (only 4 CC) or the upgrade (all 75 CC DLCs)?

Exactly right! Had it not been for mpd I would not have known the issue was present. I mean that is not a spot you normally visit. I used to go there in my playthroughs but have not in a long while. Then one by one many of us on 1.6 noticed we had it as well.

Right now after a clean vanilla reinstall I'm using the Happy Tree Mod and the area is fine but as altbert says that mod does not edit that tree

I even have Immersive fall trees and other tree mods but that stump is fine in my game.

I'm beginning to think the problem is in one of the CC content BSA files. I have the full upgrade, but not activated all CC DLCs. I moved all CC content to a backup folder and slowly moving those back in one at a time. I am only using 13 CC DLCs. If any of the other CC DLCs has a BSA file with those uprooted stumps in it, that could very well be the culprit. At least not Skyrim's BSA files or the BSA files of the 4 CC DLCs from the update.

I think I might have found the cause. I tried again with a fresh install and the stump looks good. I must have made a mistake somewhere before.

I started removing mods one by one and it seems the Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch is the culprit.

To clarify, I do not have the full upgrade, just the free update with the 4 CC stuff (fishing, survival and whatnot).

I am gonna try installing USSEP again, see what that does.

Take a look in the Data\meshes\landscape\trees folder. If there are 2 or 3 nif files that start with TreePineForestUprootedStump01, just delete those. These (may) have missing or corrupted textures. I had this issue with The Scandinavian Forests and by removing those nif files my problem was solved.

What exactly should the file look like when open in Nifscope?

Very well could be a CC item. I wish I had more time to test this right now but I'm swamped. I will be paying close attention as I build this new load order for the guide.

This happens alot. A slow step by step is always recommended.

4.26a is the version we all use. been up since November. What were you using?
