Is waiting until lvl 46 for the Bone Colossus worth it?
I'm level 24 with my magic skills between 50 and 70 with enchanting still at 20. I can get almost every other summons already. With the summons from Saint & Seducers, I could make a "warlock" character who has a pact with the denizens of Oblivion instead. I thought a necromancer would be fun, but sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh! LEVEL 46 just to get the Big Boner? WTF?

Was this post just a set up so you could say "Big Boner"?

lol. No. Was really wondering if it is really worth it. The name just came to me as I was typing.

Why do you need to be level 46? All I saw was that it's a Master Level spell obtainable after dong the conjuration ritual.

You can get quite the amount of summons through using it though. You get 2 with twin souls making one of them the Colosuss gives you 2 extra for a total of 4, in addition to them all regenerating health from its effect. If you have some High level necromancer robes, the ones added by this creation then you can have 5 summons up at once.

So even if it does require level 46, 5 regenerating undead seem pretty strong to me.

I saw this on a video on making a OP Necromancer, read about it on Reddit, and even saw a mod on nexus saying that the mod would set the spells by your conjuration skill and not by level.

Can someone confirm if it's based off of conjuration skill level or if it's your overall level? My conjuration is at level 70 and I already can buy Conjure Dremora Lord.

For casting, you just need enough magika, not sure about a level/skill lock for obtaining it.

I looked on UESP, it said that you buy the Spell from Phinis Gestor after preforming the conjuration ritual spell. So you don't need a specific character level but you do need to master conjuration first.

Dremora Lord is an expert spell, not a master one, and is starts getting sold at 65-70 conjuration. However to find it as loot you will likely need to be above character level 40. I do not think you can find master spells as loot.

I think you can find scrolls with Master-Level conjuring (Dremora Lord and such), as you can find Firestorm scrolls frequently.

Ah you are right, I do remember seeing Firestorm scrolls, though I did mean tomes.
Despite how powerful they are, Dremora Lords are only expert level. The only master level conjuration spells aside from the Creation Club are the Thrall spells, permanent summons.

Ok. I had a friend do some testing. Before I go any further, we both have the Unofficial Skyrim Creation Club Content Patches installed.

With his level 24 character, he console commanded his conjuration to level 100. Bone Colossus was not in his inventory. He did the punch and reload trick 3 times. Nothing. He then started the conjuration ritual quest and console commanded it to be completed. Once more, punch and reload. The thrall spells was in his inventory, BUT the highest necromantic spells he got was Tomb Guardian and Skeleton Champion.

He then console commanded his Character Level to 46. Saved. Punched and reloaded. Still no master spells. Tried multiple times. Nothing.

He then console commanded his Character Level to 48. Saved. Punched and reloaded. The spells was FINALLY there. Punched and reloaded multiple times. The masters did show up, but not all the time and never together.

So apparently, the Necromantic Grimoire spells are based on Character Level and not skill level. I think I will be a demon summoner instead with the Conjure Dremora Lord spell and the Conjure Saints and Seducer spells.
